Out this week: Shakespeare’s The Empire Striketh Back
Out this week is the sequel to one of the few Star Wars books your non-Star Wars obsessive friends (assuming they’re drama/English geeks or drama/English geek-adjacent) have read. Yes, William Shakespeare’s The Empire Striketh Back will be in stores today.
For those who like their Star Wars a little less literary, or their Shakespeare a little less Star Wars, there are comics. Dawn of the Jedi: Force War #5 and Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows #4
Our next novel is the paperback release of Tim Lebbon’s Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void on April 1, with J.W. Rinzler’s Star Wars Storyboards: The Original Trilogy on May 13. And the drama/English geeks will get William Shakespeare’s The Jedi Doth Return on July 1. The cover was recently revealed on Cnet.
Meet Rebels’ resident astromech, Chopper
I don’t know why all this Star Wars TV stuff is coming out of Germany lately, but here you have it: Dave Filoni and crew introducing a grumpy new astromech droid from Rebels, Chopper.
Meanwhile, there’s also some toy-based hints we might see Vader on Rebels. Yeah, it was more or less inevitable, but I admit I am a bit surprised that it may happen early enough to be in the first round of toys.
UPDATE: Chopper is now on StarWars.com, with a first look at (of course,) the Hasbro version.

It has come to Santa Maul’s attention that Darth Vader, that pan-fried brute, is now being used in place of Santa Claus at Disney World. Santa Maul supposes this is to be expected, as nothing says plebeian like Disney, but he finds the use of a wishy-washy Sith like Vader to be an afront to the very nature of Sithmas. And there probably wasn’t even any violence to liven things up!
Santa Maul has reported the incident to his master, Darth Sinterklaas. He expects vengeance will be swift.
