Greyman of Wookieepedia’s Tales of the Jedi project had email conversations with with both writers regarding their work on the comics that gave fans their first look into the ancient past of the GFFA.
Star Wars comic sales in March
Last month’s sales estimates are in over at icv2.com, and Star Wars comics are making a showing. Legacy is once again the top selling Star Wars title at #65, and Knights of the Old Republic is up (from #299 in February) to #85. Rebellion is #100. Not too shabby!
Meanwhile, over on the graphic novel list, the Legacy: Shards is #7, with Rebellion: The Ahakista Gambit at #25.

Clone Wars Adventures, Red 5, Buffy all up for Eisner Awards
The Eisner Awards are the ‘Oscars’ of comic books, and several familiar names have shown up on the 208 nominee list: Chiefly, the Clone Wars Adventures, edited by Jeremy Barlow, has been nominated for for Best Publication for Kids. Another familiar nominee is Red 5’s Atomic Robo with two, Best Limited Series and Best Coloring. Meanwhile, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 8 was nominated for for four awards, including Best New Series and Best Continuing Series. Joss Whedon and Brian K. Vaughan are both up for Best Writer.

- E-books: The folks over at NJOE spotted a listing on Random House for the first eight Legacy of the Force books due out April 29th. At only $40, it’ll save you more than $20 than if you were buying them all in paperback, so if you haven’t started LOTF yet, this is a great deal. (Sacrifice sees PB release the same day.) The last book, Invincible, comes out May 13th. (via)

- Conventions: Timothy Zahn is Guest of Honor at UberCon X in New Jersey later this month. Among his events are a Q&A and a panel on writing in someone else’s universe with Star Trek author Josepha Sherman. There will also be a charity RPG game where he’ll play one of his most famous SW characters, Grand Admiral Thrawn. (Also among the guests: our old pal Peter Schweighofer!)
- Comics: The preview for Knights of the Old Republic #27, aka the third part of Vector; A new Omnibus appears on Amazon.
- Gaming: The Force Unleashed site has had a bit of a makeover. Check out the fan toolkit (in the media gallery, under downloads) for wallpapers, screenshots, icons and more.
More changes afoot at Dark Horse
Associate editor Jeremy Barlow is stepping down to concentrate on writing full-time. In his tenure at Dark Horse he’s written several comics and edited Tales, Clone Wars Adventures, Knights of the Old Republic and was helming the Indiana Jones comics. (Dave Land will be taking over Indy.)
Randy Stradley speaks: Dark Times and Rebellion to take a break for The Clone Wars
Fanforce Portugal has an interview with Dark Horse’s Randy Stradley, grand poobah of their Star Wars line. Revealed: Dark Times and Rebellion are going on hiatus after Vector for the two The Clone Wars tie-ins, one a standard comic and the other one in the Clone Wars Adventures digest. (Knights of the Old Republic and Legacy will remain.) He also talks about the rest of the line, fan feedback, and Chewbacca’s death.
