Amazon now has a cover and a title for a new Carrie Fisher memoir, Wishful Drinking (based on her one-woman show of the same name, one assumes) and it gives a release date of December 2. The listing on Simon & Schuster’s site lacks the cover, but does give the same release date. See the full cover (from Amazon) under the cut. Continue reading “Carrie Fisher memoir coming in December”
First look at Luceno’s Millennium Falcon
On the official site tonight, the cover and blurb for the first post-LOTF novel, James Luceno’s Millennium Falcon. Here’s the first part of the blurb – head on over to StarWars.com for the rest.
Two years have passed since the defeat of Darth Caedus, the former Jacen Solo. For a grieving Han and Leia, the shadow of their son’s tragic downfall still looms large. But Jacen’s own bright and loving daughter, Allana, offers a ray of hope for the future as she thrives in her grandparents’ care. The eager, inquisitive and Force-strong girl makes a curious discovery aboard her grandfather’s beloved spacecraft — the much-overhauled but ever-dependable Millennium Falcon. The Solo family then finds itself at a new turning point, about to set out on an odyssey into uncertain territory, untold adventure, and unexpected rewards.
Cover for Coruscant Nights: Patterns of Force
UPDATE: The official site now has the synopsis.
Random House has released the cover for Michael Reaves’ third Coruscant Nights book, due out in November, and man is it cool. (If you ignore the cheesy text effects.) See the whole thing under the cut. Continue reading “Cover for Coruscant Nights: Patterns of Force“
Dark Horse covers for The Clone Wars
The Clone Wars character designs look a tad less wonky as actual drawings, but I’m not sure that angle is the most appropriate angle for Ahsoka… (Full spread: The Clone Wars #1, The Clone Wars #2, Shipyards of Doom, Crash Course.)
And while we’re on the topic of Dark Horse, a preview for Knights of the Old Republic #31.
New cover for Republic Commando: Order 66
Del Rey’s designers are trying something new… (About time.) I like it! Get the full impact under the cut. Continue reading “New cover for Republic Commando: Order 66“
More more more The Clone Wars
With August and the release date bearing down, the news is (finally, overwhelmingly) starting to flow…
- The movie is set to premiere August 10 at Hollywood’s historic Egyptian Theatre (where ESB premiered) with all proceeds going to American Cinematheque, a non-profit film organization. Members can order tickets early, but they go on sale for the public on July 23.
- The soundtrack will be out August 12.
- More kid’s book covers spotted on Amazon by Eddie and Zee Zee: Decide Your Destiny #1: The Way Of The Jedi, Operation Huttlet, Meet Ahsoka Tano and Sticker Storyteller. (Thanks, Zee Zee!)
More on The Clone Wars for young readers
StarWars.com has the first look at on Penguin’s line for younger readers, including a cover gallery. (Above, the relevant bits of the junior novelization cover.)
Traviss’ The Clone Wars novel cover revealed
I haven’t seen a movie novelization cover this bland since The Phantom Menace, but I suppose it gets the point across. See it under the cut. Continue reading “Traviss’ The Clone Wars novel cover revealed”
Wait, what? Mindor and Falcon swap dates
So sayth the official blog this evening: Stover’s Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor has been moved back to December, and Luceno’s Millennium Falcon moved up to October. But the main focus of the post is a nice bit from artist Dave Seeley on the how and why of the image, and we get our first look at Mindor’s back cover – Lord Shadowspawn.
This is also the second time we’ve gotten a real news item via the blog… Interesting, no? (I suppose an all-Flash site would be mildly bearable if this method continues. Permalinks good!)
Yes, yes, I’m updating the book schedule.
UPDATE 05/20: On TOS, we have word from Sue Rostoni on the how and why of the switch:
Matt is late with his manuscript, and Jim is early — just made sense to swap them to give us a bit more time.
New cover, content list for Luke Skywalker omnibus
On the Dark Horse boards, Randy Stradley shares a new cover (by Adam Hughes) and the content list for Luke Skywalker: Last Hope for the Galaxy. It’s a pretty nice selection, and looks to include some of Marvel’s Shira Brie/Lumiya arc and a bit from Dark Horse’s only NJO-era comic, the Chewbacca mini-series. See the full list under the cut.
