Leia\'s hoppin\' space boots

I’m sensing a theme today! Tricia Narwani over at Suvudu counts down the Best Fashion in Science Fiction and Fantasy, including Leia in ANH. I’m clearly a bad Star Wars fan because I never noticed her white boots, but they are pretty bitching in that ultra-70’s-space-chic Alderaani way. (Major props to Narwani for not going for the slave outfit: It does have truly awful shoes.)

Also name-dropped: Battlestar Galactica, Harry Potter and the White Witch in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I won’t lie to you: Her chain-mail battle dress in that movie? Most kickass.

Battlestar Galactica costume auction in the works…

Interested in purchasing costumes and props from the Sci-Fi series Battlestar Galactica? Apollo’s or Starbuck’s flight suit? Admiral Adama’s uniform? full size Raptors or Vipers ? (will those even fit in my garage?) Propworx (which has handled Star Trek prop & costume auctions in the past) will be having a series of live and online auctions of 3,000 BSG costumes and props next year, and has started a blog of what they have found in production storage, found at www.battlestarprops.com.

SDCC ’08: Saturday and Sunday at the con

While I don’t doubt there were still plenty of Star Wars fans still roaming around Saturday and Sunday, with most of the panels being on Friday there wasn’t much new floating around. Well, except for the Mandalorian wedding. (Oye vey.) And Cinematical posted a brief review of Fanboys. And the official site has more pictures, of course, while Rebelscum continues exhaustively documenting the booths and products of every licensee.

Jamie Bamber Sheds a Tear

E!’s Watch with Kristin spoke to BSG’s Jamie Bamber about the oddness of closing out Battlestar’s run on a second unit shoot.  But he also admits that tears were shed at the read-through.  (Interpret as you will.)

He also shares some about his future with BSG and the upcoming Law & Order – London.  (Complete with cute accent.)

Emmy noms for Star Wars spoofs, Carrie Fisher

Both Robot Chicken: Star Wars and Family Guy: Blue Harvest have received Emmy nominations in their respective animation categories, while Carrie Fisher is in the running for Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series for her turn as Rosemary Howard on 30 Rock.

Robot Chicken is up for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour) against episodes of Creature Comforts America, King of the Hill, SpongeBob SquarePants and The Simpsons. Blue Harvest is up for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming One Hour Or More) against South Park’s Imaginationland and Justice League: The New Frontier.
