Daisy Ridley on filming Rise of Skywalker, looking back on TLJ’s throne room fight

Daisy Ridley gets another cover story, this one in British GQ, where she talks about adjusting to fame, filming The Rise of Skywalker and more.

She was able to find the light side even in the weightier moments. “There was this thing,” she says, laughing as she starts to recall. “JJ would ask us to do the scene without speaking, just to feel the emotional… whatever. He was like, ‘You never know what could come up.’ We did that a couple of times. Then it became a joke, because we would just wet ourselves laughing. I said to JJ, ‘You have to do a bloopers reel,’ because I couldn’t keep my shit together at all.”

As part of the package, she also watches and comments of The Last Jedi’s throne room scene:

In the second part of Vanity Fair’s Rise of Skywalker coverage this week, J.J. Abrams takes on Reylo, and the respective journeys of Rey and Kylo.

“They’re stronger, but because each is stronger, so is their adversary,” Abrams said. The characters are “connected in this profound way, drawn to each other, curious about each other, knowledgeable about each other.”

Less hopeful from J.J. is the word on Finnpoe/Stormpilot, though he did say “in the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who go to see this movie feel that they’re being represented in the film.”

Another day, another new commercial.

Is that new music? Someone who knows these things please weigh in, it is so very Not My Division.
