Kathleen Kennedy would “love” for Taika Waititi to take on Star Wars

Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy says she would “love” for Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi to direct a Star Wars movie. “I think he has exactly the right sensibility. It was very exciting to see him step into the Marvel universe and do such an amazing job with Thor,” she told Newshub.

Their headline aside, it’s hardly a deal, and given the recent issues with Solo no one would blame Waititi for being wary. But it’s certainly not a bad idea by any means. It just takes the right project, scheduling, and all that boring time-consuming technical stuff.

The Last Jedi: Press conference, interviews and more

The Last Jedi press conference (and junket) was held on Sunday, and while it was low on news, an official video has now been released so you can comb through it for details on your specific foci. It had fun moments, but you can feel the exhaustion pouring off all these poor people. Moderated by Entertainment Weekly’s Anthony Breznican, it features Rian Johnson, Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson and Andy Serkis.

There are a lot of interviews coming out from the junket and other apperances, and honestly at this point all I can do is point you towards the Tumblr. Some highlights include The Star Wars Show, the First Order folks interviewing each other , everyone’s favorite Snoke theories and basically everything with Laura Dern and Oscar Isaac. (Just… Laura Dern.) Oh, and Daisy Ridley’s clarification on that quote about leaving the franchise.

Get your Echo Base on with a limited-edition coat collection from Columbia

Columbia Sportswear is launching a limited edition Star Wars Echo Base collection. The three standard Han, Luke and Leia coats retail for $400 each and will available in limited quantities (only 1,980 of each) at certain brand retail locations in the U.S. and online on December 8.

A brown ‘archive’ edition of the Han coat will be an “extremely limited run,” signed by Harrison Ford himself. 100% of the proceeds from the sales will go to Conservation International. One of these will cost you even more – $1980.
