In still-rare (if minor) legitimate Episode IX news, John Boyega revealed that he’s growing out his hair for the film, hinting at the time jump most of us are expecting from the film. “The first step is growing out my hair so you can wait for the trailer to see why,” he told Yahoo. Sounds like Finn is getting a new look! (You can check out Boyega’s current hairstyle on his Instagram.)
The Last Jedi is the only episodic Star Wars film that did not begin with a significant time jump from its predecessor.
Director J.J. Abrams has said Episode IX will start filming at the end of July.
One new comic this week, and two reprints, both connected to Solo. This week’s sole new release is Star Wars #47. For the reprints, we have a hardcover collectionof 2016’s Han Solo miniseries and a mini-collection of Dark Horse’s Tag & Bink comics. They’ll be in the movie, after all.

In what may be the first of many new records, Avengers: Infinity War has edged out The Force Awakens as the biggest box office opening of all time. Early estimates have Infinity War with a $258.2M opening weekend (The Force Awakens took $248M in 2015).

Lucasfilm dropped a new Solo featurette on us this afternoon, giving us a lot of new looks at the film – particularly Corellia, Mimban and the sabacc game. (Plus more from his first meeting with Chewbacca!) There’s also talk from Ron Howard, Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Lawrence Kasdan.
Another Solo commercial has arrived. This time: A look at Qi’ra in Lando’s cape closet!

Her Universe’s main lines for Solo has launched at Hot Topic and Torrid, and they are extremely retro and colorful and even – in a way – sort of subtle? In that some of them are not immediately recognizable as Star Wars to the non-obsessive eye, that is. Because there is exactly nothing subtle about those stripes and the other extremely ’70s touches.

The next Star Wars cartoon is officially announced, and it’s Resistance, set sometime before The Force Awakens. The “anime-inspired” series will star a character named Kazuda Xiono.
Xiono is “a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.” The series will also feature BB-8 and appearances by Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, with Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie reprising their roles.

An interior replica of Solo‘s Millennium Falcon will be visiting four U.S. locations over the next month.
Constructed inside three 40-foot long shipping containers, visitors can stop by Lando’s bar, sit at the famed Dejarik table, and finally get the chance to say “Punch it!” from inside the iconic cockpit. The finest details were crafted using the same molds used in Solo: A Star Wars Story!
So if you’re in or nearby Highland Heights, Kentucky (seven miles southeast of Cincinnati), Atlanta, Salt Lake City, or Denver, congrats! As for the rest of us, there’s a tour in the latest episode of The Star Wars Show, which also features Marvel’s Kevin Feige and a model Falcon made with Solo cups:
Look guys, I usually don’t bother, but we’ve got the costume exhibit opening up in Detroit next month. You can swing this by after Denver, right? Alphabetical!
A scene from Solo was shown at CinemaCon 2018 today in Vegas, showing attendees the first meeting between Han Solo and Lando Calrissian. The most complete description seems to from Germain Lussier at io9.
Does Han win the Millennium Falcon the very first time he plays against Lando? We’ll see in a month, I suppose.
