The GFFA’s Mightiest Filler: Best #StarWars, #TheForceAwakens and #SWEU tweets for April 21-30

@stoogey: Despite my furious googling, "Rebels: Age of Fulcrum" is still apparently not a thing.

We’ve all eased back into normal life post-Celebration, just in time for May the 4th on Monday. In the meantime, John Boyega’s family gets their revenge for all those secrets he won’t spill, The Force Awakens posters have begun appearing in theaters, and something about… Dog poop? Rebels returns to Disney XD on June 20

Rebels will return with the one-hour ‘The Siege of Lothal’ on Saturday, June 20th, Lucasfilm has announced. That’s much sooner than expected, but Lucasfilm is saying that the rest of the show will be out in the fall. An odd choice, but nothing with Disney XD’s schedules ever seems clear-cut. Still, it’s nice that the S2 premiere will be out sooner rather than later.

In the more immediate future, Disney XD will be spending this weekend marathoning season 1 and their LEGO specials. A half-hour recap special, ‘Star Wars Rebels: The Ultimate Guide,’ will debut Monday at 8.

Report: Star Wars saga marathon coming in December

Star Wars logoStar Wars Action News heard from an AMC manager that a full Star Wars saga marathon is in the works for the December release of The Force Awakens.

A handful of big theater chains (including AMC) have been holding similar events with the 11 Marvel Studios films in connection with this week’s release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, so it wouldn’t exactly be a stretch for Disney (and Fox) to greenlight the same for Star Wars.

Personally I’d settle for a pair of three-film combo events over a nice leisurely weekend in early December, but I suppose that’s why we have Blu-rays.

Video: Mark Hamill and James Arnold Taylor chat backstage at Celebration Anaheim

Backstage at Celebration, Mark Hamill chats with James Arnold Taylor about Star Wars and shared some family photos from the Return of the Jedi set. (The Force Awakens stuff starts at 7:20. #Beardwatch!)

A bunch of other Celebration videos have gone up over the past few days as well, most pulls from the livestream, including interviews with Billy Dee Williams, Ray Park, Joel Aron, Doug Chiang and Christian Alzmann, among others. And then there’s con highlights that played during the Closing Ceremonies…
