Marvel is entering December this Wednesday with the debut of Doctor Aphra #1. We’re also getting a flurry of reprint collections, with The Force Awakens adaptation and the complete run of Kanan in hardcover, plus Poe Dameron volume 1 and the newly-recolored A New Hope in trade.
A new featurette focuses on the creatures of Rogue One with director Gareth Edwards and creature effects supervisor Neal Scanlan.
There was another press conference in San Francisco today. StarWars.con liveblogged it, and here’s a collection of the live-tweets. Perhaps the biggest news to come out of it: Kathleen Kennedy said that her earlier comments on female directors were taken out of context. She also said that they’re not nessarily planning to bring more cartoon characters into the standalones, ala Saw Gerrera, but they may come in more organically. Also: George Lucas saw and liked it.

Some journalists got a look at the first 28 minutes of Rogue One last night, and USA Today’s Brian Truitt is surprisingly forthcoming about what he saw. The veil of secrecy is so thin this time! (Yes, that’s a spoiler warning.) Underworld rounds up some more reactions.
→ A good portion of the Rogue One cast – Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Alan Tudyk, Ben Mendelsohn, and Mads Mikkelsen, plus director Gareth Edwards – will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live on December 9. Some of The Force Awakens cast did a similar appearance last year, so expect it to go something like this.

The live Rogue One event on Twitter turned out to be, basically, a live press conference at Lucasfilm. In attendance were director Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, and Alan Tudyk.

With only 15 days to go, The Star Wars Show goes all in on Rogue One. Shockingly, StarWars.com will be live-streaming the premiere red carpet on December 10, but for now Andi has a new interview with Gareth Edwards. (He also pre-reveals a couple of Easter eggs.)

Is an Obi-wan Kenobi film not happening because he already has a (non-spinoff!) place in the pipeline? That’s what Entertainment Weekly’s Anthony Breznican recently said he’d heard. If that means slightly less time we have to hear folks clamor for it – and for the press to pester poor Ewan MacGregor – than sure.
