Stores aren’t getting as many copies of Revenge of the Sith as they expect – Fox is limiting distribution to save on returns.
Spider-Man eats brains
Or so I would assume – Zombies are so hot that even Marvel is getting into the action with Marvel Zombies #1. Just in time for… Christmas? I guess there’s no bad time for the undead.
Punk Rock Potters
MTV interviews Harry and the Potters:
With song titles like “The Foil (Malfoy)” and “Voldemort Can’t Stop the Rock,” 18-year-old Joe and 26-year-old Paul have watched in stunned amazement as their “goofy” idea has turned into a full-fledged, touring band. Strumming their guitars and belting out lyrics like “Draco Malfoy, what’s your problem?/ All your friends think you’re rad/ ‘Cause you treat me so bad,” the DeGeorge brothers have combined broomsticks with Blink-182. And the outfits help too.
That’s it, CJrs: we totally have to revive The Dead Daalas.
Rise, Lord Combover
I don’t know about you, but Star Wars isn’t going to make me watch The Apprentice. I already took one for the team this year. Screw Trump.
I’m more of a Martha fan anyway. That woman would make one hell of a Sith, and Trump is the Admiral Daala to her Palpatine.
And since yes, since there is TV that doesn’t involve ‘reality,’ there was quite a big chunk of ROTS reference – an entire conversation, even – on last night’s Gilmore Girls. I’m keeping my eyes out for a transcript, but for now let me just say it involved higher ground. And ranting. Lovely, lovely ranting.
The wizard gene
Geneticists in Scotland are exploreing a Darwinian explanation of the Harry Potter’s inheritance of magical abilities, with an eye towards teaching children about genetics.
Got tickets?
Make an X-Wing out of Paris Metro tickets. Instructions in French and English, with plenty of pictures. I bet you could make one out of cardstock if you haven’t been to Paris lately.
“Long Way Round” DVD finally comes to North America!
Great news!
Patty of the LJ community Ewan_Playground (and if you’re not already a member, why not???) received an email from LWR HQ saying the show would see a North American release before Christmas.
The US will get the seven episode version while Canada will get the extended ten episode one.
It’s not listed yet, but you can probably get the Canadian version at Amazon Canada or at Chapters/Indigo.
Hooray! Thanks Patty!
Monday SW updates are DVDlicious
Clone Wars Volume 2 won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.
Dressing a Galaxy, an exhibit of costumes from all six films, opened today in Los Angeles. Probably too early to tell if the exhibit will tour.
Hyperspace members get a peek at the ROTS DVD. Meanwhile, the New York post managed to catch up with Lucas (Bugmenot for login) while he was in NYC for a fashion week preview of the costume exhibit, and got a few quotes about the DVD and the TV show. And finally, TFN reports that buying the DVD at Wal-mart will get you a bonus DVD.
The Gun of Command? :::cough, cough, sputter sputter:::
“I just want to be worthy of the Jedi Master that I love.”
If that makes you want to bash your head against the wall over and over and over again then don’t miss Dunc’s latest list of the EU’s Most Eye-Sporking moments. Her review of “Courtship of Princess Leia” is particularly hilarious.
And for another great rant about the “Gun of Command” (AHHHH!!!) don’t miss Jessa’s MOMENT.
Ahoy, you blige rats!
That’s right! It’s International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Arrrr!
Go here to pick up some lingo, including pirate pick-up lines and how to talk like a pirate in German.
