The Woman of Star Trek scoffs at sterotypes. The profiles (which only cover the original series, and a few of the movies) can get a tad saccharine and the writing a bit stilted, but I have to admire the effort, and the delightfully clear screencaps to help those of us who may not know every character and episode by name. As we learned earlier, Del Rey is sponsoring a contest to name the new Sith Lord. Well, darthwho.com went operational today, forwarding to starwars.com/darthwho.
It works like so: Starting tomorrow, fans send in their names. A panel of folks from Lucasfilm and Del Rey (including the series authors) will pick five finalists. Those five names will then be voted on by starwars.com members.
So I don’t think we’ll be seeing Darth Stephen Colbert or anything, but I still find myself rather wary of this type of fan interaction. But we’ll just have to see.
