Judith Martin, who you may know best as Miss Manners, used to be a film critic, and you can read her reviews of The Empire Strikes Back and Superman online.
Sith hoodlum not the brightest bulb
Dobby, forsaken
No Dobby in Order of the Phoenix. At least Kreacher is still on board. I know you’re overjoyed.
A vampire with a soul? How lame is that?
AfterElton.com explores slash. Yes, it’s another article about fan fiction that focuses on slash, but at least this time it’s warranted.
Release the Wantons!
Is Orlando Bloom not necessary for a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean film? A more interesting question: Is a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean necessary at all?
George speaks
IESB interview with George Lucas, where he clarifys some remarks from last week. Um, he did say quiting blockbusters, not movies entirely, right? Because that’s pretty much exactly what I heard. Oh well.
I was going to link this in the video post, but then I decided to go with the whole cute thing. George is many things, but I wouldn’t really call him cute.

Pug bowling! A touching tale of revenge so adorable it ought to be illegal.
And to take us on home, a kitten on a keyboard.
From the Blogside

Icarusancalion has excellent advice for fandom security. Hiding your tie-in novels in the underwear drawer is not, surprisingly, one of them.
Oboe-Wan ponders hats and Ewoks. Sadly, not hats of Ewoks. (Yes, it’s old-school CJ reference day!)
On the VIP front, Helen Keier on how she got the gig, Sterling Hershey explains what a freelance game designer does and Abel G. Peña discusses the origins of Darth Millennial. Oh, and Jeremy Bulloch has shown up.
Enterprise prop makes for big bucks
A model of the Enterprise-D sold at auction for $576,000 today at Christie’s. The model was built by ILM (!) and used in The Next Generation series and the film Generations.
January 2007 Comics
The next arc of Legacy takes us… back to the beginning? Okay… Oh, and they’re doing hardcover collections of comics that you might have forgotten existed. Case in point: The Freedon Nadd Uprising? Wasn’t that like, two issues? Meh.
