You can never have enough “Dark” in book titles: Adventures in foreign title translations.
Weird Things on the Wookieepedia
Bantam/Dark Horse invasion storyline. Sue Rostoni denied it at starwars.com a week or so ago (see the article’s talk page) as did Shelley Shapiro back in 2003 and Randy Stradley in a recent interview with TFN but as we all know, fandom loves a conspiracy theory.
I feel a great disturbance in the copyright…
Urban Medium is now offering a bust of their CheTrooper graphic.
That’s telekiniesis, Kyle!
Well, the ‘professional’ Coldplay vid got the attention of cool kid blog Sterogum, so I suppose it’s not too surprising that Gawker sib Idolator did a fanvid post. Star Wars is the only genre fandom featured – an uninspired but mildly amusing ‘Yoda’ vid.
I haven’t linked to many fanvids – honestly, it’s kind of a dry well unless you’re really into Evanescence. However, I did find a vid of Tenacious D’s ‘Wonderboy’ today that made me giggle.
To all the vids I’ve linked before…

Entertainment Weekly actually found a Star Wars virgin to watch the Cinemax marathon. This is his report.
Another hope for Babylon 5?
It was our last, best hope for peace. And the station itself might have gone away. But there are apparently still stories to tell.
SciFi Wire is reporting that a straight-to-DVD production is underway for Babylon 5 to tell a couple more stories. Sheridan, Lochley and Galen are already due to participate.
I can see Beth preparing to get her hands on that sucker right now….
What’s up, Doc?
Boba Fett is not really a character I find particularly interesting, but this custom ‘Buggs Fett’ figure by Jeffrey Van Hove wins the internet. (Also see him without the helmet)
Dare to geek on national television?
ABC is looking for “families who are Extreme Star Wars Enthusiast” to appear on Wife Swap. Interested? You can apply here. Again, thanks to Bonnie for the inside info!
Old-school gaming
Jek Porkins and Ponda Baba star in the Mario-esque Haunted House Candy Hunt. (Thanks, Bonnie!) I’m really bad at these games and I never even got past the first screen, but let me know if your luck is better than mine.
News in Brief
Ground was broken yesterday at the future Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial at the National Mall in D.C.. George Lucas donated $1 million to the memorial.
Basil Poledouris, film composer who did the music for Starship Troopers, RoboCop, and Conan and a classmate of George Lucas at USC, passed away last week. Watch a video tribute at Youtube.
Fans are big on spin-off novels. Shocking! However – Star Trek and Lost I can understand, but do CSI novels really sell better than Star Wars, as the article insinuates?
