Going to Dragon*Con?

The Matters of the Force, the Star Wars track at Dragon*Con in Atlanta on Labor Day weekend, needs volunteers for this year. D*C is one of the country’s biggest fandom cons – I’ve been told several times that every media fan ought to go at least once.

With CJ not assembling at GenCon this year, many of us are looking to D*C to fill the void, so this could be a great opportunity…

  1. Dragon*Con is a blast if you love sci-fi media. Not for young children after, say, 6pm. But otherwise a great con.

James Marsters (aka Spike from Buffy) described it as “A sci-fi con meets Mardis Gras.”

A word of caution about volunteering for MOTF. Be very specific about what you’re willing to do or Cathy will take up all of your time. It’s a fun track, but if you haven’t been to D*C before, limit your volunteering so you can enjoy all there is to see.

  2. I heartily agree with Paula. Dragon*Con has something for everyone who likes sci-fi, including SW. KJA and Timothy Zahn are on the roster for this year. Maybe Cathy would consider a “Battle of the SW Authors” panel (insert evil laugh)? And of course, there’s the ever-popular Mr. Star Wars contest, courtesy of your very own Paula.
