Darksaber is back! No, the other one.

The next episode of Rebels is ‘Trials of the Darksaber.’ And it has nothing to do with the 1996 novel we heartily mocked… This darksaber is (amazingly) more literal than a Kevin J. Anderson plot point and originates with The Clone Wars. Also Mandalorians, because why not. Star Wars Rebels, everyone! I can’t.

‘Trials of the Darksaber’ airs Saturday, January 21 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD.

  1. Darksaber, the only book I have ever literally tossed across the room into a wall screaming “HOW DID I EVEN GET THROUGH THIS PIECE OF CRAP THE FIRST TIME?”

  2. I might be over-reading things, but what do you have against the Darksaber/Mandalorians?

    1. The first Darksaber, the book, is rather infamous around these parts for being, well, awful. It also happens to be the book I bonded with other CJers over, way back in the day.

I think the second darksaber, the actual darksaber, is utterly ridiculous. Because. Well. Look at it. It’s like something someone came up on the playground when they were 8. Which, fine, okay, whatever, it’s Star Wars and goofy shit happens. But I can’t shake the impression.

And I’ve never liked Mandos. You can read why here, because I don’t bother to debate it. It just is.

I am incapable of not being snarky about any of these objects separately. Combine them, and, well… You get this. I know I don’t indulge as much as I used to, but none of this is new.

      1. Alright, nice. :) I can understand that. Thanks for responding with an actual argument! Far too few of those online these days.

      2. I love how Boba Fett goes down. It’s perfect. He’s a heel. Robot Chicken did a skit about Boba Fett bragging down in the Sarlaac pit about how he was so awesome in his fighting before he got knocked into the pit. It’s beautiful.
