They’re just not finding an audience, says Randy Stradley. (Shocking!) The bookstore-friendly digests will continue. And this might have changed somewhere along the way, but wasn’t the monthly series supposed to be a limited one anyway?

Says a lot about the bookstore appeal of digest-sized trades , given that the Clone Wars digests regularly chart, whereas the other Star Wars trades, not so much.
Wish I could say I was surprised, but it’s been years since I saw a kid in a comic shop.
i CAN SEE THE COMICS TRADE SWITCHING ENTIRELY TO ONLINE STRIPS WITHIN THE NEXT 5 YEARS, ESPECIALLY IF TRADES DON’T KEEP INCREASING IN SALES. wHY WASTE MONEY ON PRINTED MATERIAL WHEN ENTIRE ARCHIVES OF STORIES CAN BE FIT ONTO HARD DRIVES?
sHAME, tcw COMIC WAS A GOOD READ.
(Just noticed, Caps Lock. Narf!)
it seemed that the series was initially supposed to be a six-issue run, and after that single story, they decided to keep going with the line with a two shorter 3-issue arcs, to go out to 12 issues.
i’m not surprised that it isn’t selling that strongly – the target audience may not have the patience/capital to wait for a story arc to be fully published. the digests usually contain several complete self-contained stories. so… a kid buying Clone Wars stories, or for a parent looking to get their kid some CW stories, which seems more fun… a thicker book with several stories, or a comic book that contains 1/3 to 1/6 of a story.
