Literally just announced at the Closing Ceremonies here at Celebration VI: Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith in 3D will be released mere weeks apart next year, and the second Celebration Europe will be held in Germany, also next year.
Attack of the Clones 3D will come out on September 20, 2013, followed by Revenge of the Sith 3D on October 11, 2013! Fans in the Closing Ceremonies got to see clips of both films.
Also announced is the second Celebration in Europe: It’ll be July 26-28, 2013 at the Messe Essen in Essen, Germany. I bet the Belgian modelmakers are relieved!
Two Star Wars movies in one month: It’s Special Edition time again! :-)
So were the attendees in the room as underwhelmed by these announcements as I was reading them? One is telling us about movies we pretty much already knew we’re being made and the other was about a show that the vast majority of the people at CVI most likely won’t or can’t attend.
We’re the movie clips at least actually in 3D?
I don’t know about the movie reaction since I wasn’t there, but it was in 3D. I was walking down the hall with a lot of people coming out of the Ceremonies though, and they were definitely underwhelmed with the CE announcement. But I think that’s to be expected, as Americans aren’t exactly the target audience there.
the clips were indeed in 3D, as special Celebration VI 3-D glasses were given out. (not to be used as sunglasses)
I will be there for this, who’s with me?
So excited about Celebration Europe! I couldn’t go last time and am hoping I can make it this time!
It’s also very nice to have release dates for the next two 3D movies.
Very interesting. I know that The Phantom Menace didn’t do as well as expected when it came to the 3D (in conversion as well as Box Office Returns), so it’s interesting to see them bump this up to be so close. I’m happy with it, as it means that we’ll have some good troops from the 501st Legion next fall. I just hope that they’ve got the conversion down a bit better.
I doubt you’ll be the only Jader there, Sam, but it’s literally the week after SDCC so we’re not sure who else will be going yet!
I probably won’t, but then again I doubt I’ll ever go to any international Celebrations… Unless they hold one in Canada. ;)
Andrew: I was really impressed by what I saw of the Attack of the Clones conversion. Would have liked to see some of ROTS, but they were keeping that under wraps.
