The Calgary Sun has a list of 25 shows that died too young – Freaks and Geeks, Firefly, Angel, and many other familiar shows – and the 3 that lasted too long, including the X-Files and Alias.
Very lonely nerds
Star Wars jokes on Family Guy get run by Lucasfilm:
Regarding any legal issues with the extremely frequent Star Wars jokes Family Guy is known for, McFarlane explained, “Lucasfilm has actually gotten on board. It’s getting to the point where we’ll send these Star Wars jokes of the week to Lucasfilm.”
I’m not a huge Family Guy fan, but the entire article is actually quite interesting. The Star Wars stuff is on the last page.
In the beginning, there was Star Trek
The History Channel will be showing a documentary called How William Shatner Changed the World. Shatner will chat with researchers and innovators inspired by Star Trek.
Is TV the new hope of Hollywood?
IGN ponders the Star Wars TV show in light of Lucas’ post-Oscar comments.
Here’s hoping Lost and Battlestar Galactica don’t go the way of the X-Files and drag genre TV down with them in the next couple of years.
Our Other Master (Whedon) Speaks!
Empire Magazine is so much like us. They appreciate the great entertainment we do; most recently, Serenity.
They recently scored an exclusive interview with our other master: Joss Whedon; creator of Buffy (and Spike), Angel and Firefly.
In short:
1. Serenity didn’t set the box office ablaze. He’ll never rule it out, but it doesn’t look likely we’ll see another film in the series.
2. Wonder Woman is still in progress. He’s unsure whether his new horror film “Goners” will come out, first.
3. The rumored Spike film is still a possibility; if he can get some financing together. (Anyone up for a giant bake sale?)

Alias to run short
ABC has reduced their order of the last season of the spy drama from 22 to 17 episodes, nine of which have already aired. (Be warned the link contains possible spoilers for the rest of the season.)
‘Braveheart’ style? Oh dear…
Kristen Bell talks about Veronica Mars with AOL. Mentions Fanboys:
It’s kind of like ‘Swingers’ for nerds because it’s about these four awesome guys who are ‘Star Wars’-obsessed and they drive cross-country to break into [George] Lucas’ ranch to steal the final episode. It’s so funny. There’s a scene where there’s a full-on war between Trekkies and the ‘Star Wars’ kids, ‘Braveheart’ style. I’ll be shooting on the weekends for six weeks. It’s going to be a big workload, but I wasn’t willing to turn the part down because it was such a great script.
Are you Lost?
Then you’ll enjoy this possible translation for some stuff on the last episode. Needless to say, spoilers of some sort are involved. (via Cleolinda)
Lost Rhapsody
Fan-made Lost video set to Weird Al’s ‘Bohemian Polka.’ Kinda rough, but damn funny. Spoilerific only if you haven’t seen the first season. (via MeFi)
Special Valentine Unit
Okay, so it’s not our usual genre, but the Law and Order Valentines have been making the rounds and they’re too damn funny not to link. (via Boing Boing)
The artist, Brandon Bird, also has some fun Star Wars stuff: Masters of the Force, Fluttermaul, Man of Tomorrow and an awesome Ewok poster. Check out brandonbird.com for more fun pop-culture artwork.
