Looks like things are rockin’ along with the new Bionic Woman. A new teaser trailer is out.
The Star Wars/Simpsons connection
I actually remember reading this article in the Insider. I have been doing this way too long.
In other crossover news, TFN reports that Mark Hamill does commentary on the episode he guest-voiced, ‘Mayored to the Mob,’ on the 10th season Simpsons DVDs.
Heroes Everywhere!
Lots of little tidbits about Heroes, this week, and we haven’t even gotten to ComicCon, yet.
- The whole “GayGate” controversy.
- George Takei’s role gets a little juicier.
- E! thinks that they’ve confirmed Zachary Quinto‘s casting as the young Spock.
- And the show wins a nice award.
The Geek Speaks
GateWorld has posted a new interview with David Hewlett about Seasons 3 and 4 of Stargate Atlantis.
Just a wee bit spoilery, but nothing more than you’ve already seen covered by others.
Eureka! You can go green!
So, okay. They can’t give you a house with SARAH running things. But the smart folks at Eureka are offering a contest to help you turn your home eco-friendly with the Eureka $mart House Energy Efficiency Challenge. (Since Global Warming was the result of one of their experiments going wrong, they have to make up for it somehow!)
Sadly, this does require some decent and/or creative writing as you need to come up with 250 words about why you deserve to win. (Oh. And save the planet and all that stuff.)
Genre Shows get some Emmy Love
Dare we think that the Emmy’s have finally woken up to some new shows with this year’s nominations? At least they’re finally giving some love to genre shows in the major categories.
A big shout-out to ILM-er and fellow Star Wars geek Masi Oka for his Heroes nomination. It’s always nice when a geek does good.
The Fans Give Back
Apparently, J. Michael Straczynski owes a bit to the Babylon5 fandom for helping get the new DVD’s done. Warner Brothers managed to lose or destroy the show’s computer graphics, so they had to turn to fans who had worked up their own graphics in order to get the special effects done in time.
Hmm. Do the fans get any producer credit for that?
Sci-Fi Channel: Farscape lives! Sort of.
Yesterday, Sci-Fi Channel announced that they’ll be producing 10 webisodes of Farscape. No stars are attached but hopes are high it could leave to a revival of the popular series. Among Sci-Fi’s other announcements> is a second Battlestar Galactica webisode arc, a six-hour miniseries based on The Odyssey and co-created by Farscape and Stargate SG-1 actor Ben Browder, and of course Battlestar Galactica: Razor, which is due on November 24th.
Babylon5 Boldly Returns
As if there weren’t enough genre things to keep a fan giddy this summer, Babylon5 fans (including Captain Sheridan himself, Bruce Boxleitner) are getting ready for the release of the upcoming DVD The Lost Tales – Voices in the Dark on July 31st.
Dust off your Centauri hair.
Farscape Revived
There are many in Club Jade who mourned the passing of Farscape. Now they can take the pins out of the SciFi voo-doo dolls as the network is commissioning new episodes to air on the web.
And the natives rejoiced.
