Teaser and/or trailer for Bender’s Big Score, the first new Futurama in far too long.
This is what the Times actually believes
These guys are big on lists lately – this time, it’s their forty most memorable aliens. Ewoks and Max Rebo make the list, as well as other familiar faces like Doctor Who and Mr. Spock.
Gate Geekiness Round-Up
Tonight, our intrepid Stargate Atlantis warriors pull an Oceans Eleven on SciFi (10pm, Eastern) in the episode Lifeline.
Please watch. Ratings (without DVR and iTunes factored in) were okay, but not stunning. (Or strong and poised for greater success, depending on whether or not you’re an optimist or pessimist.) Yes, Flash Gordon will suck the life out of you, but you can watch another channel and head on over after it’s done. (This message not brought to you by Team Stargate, but heartfelt, all the same.)
In other Gate news:
– My bad. iTunes gives the fourth episode of the season to people who tried to buy the first episode of the season. That production order number will get you every time!
– There’s a game. It’s fun.
– A slightly more complex Stargate game.
– Pretty pictures.
– Yes, Paul McGillion did, indeed, audition for the role of Scotty in Star Trek.
– The cool thing about television is you get to see how you’d look in fifty years. (Spoilers!)
MSN posts list. News at Eleven.
Far be it for MSN to miss out on that great trend of making lists. They celebrate the new TV season with a look at TV’s Greatest Geeks.
Apparently, geeks have been very recent. Only two nods to geeks of yore. Please direct all whining to their message boards.
But can he recite Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds?
As part of its ongoing tribute to Star Trek: The Next Generation, Entertainment Weekly has a “Where are they now?” look at the cast.
Brent Spiner (aka Data) is creating a “concept album.” I know he’s done previous ones that have been quite good, but that phrase always makes me nervous. Memories of William Shatner, anyone?
A Colbert-level showdown
Uh-oh – Star Wars: A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy shares a release date with Stephen Colbert’s I Am America (And So Can You!)? Pity the poor pop-ups!
Have a craving for some Robot Chicken?
‘Jedi Bush’ was far from the highlight of the Robot Chicken: Star Wars special (Bush jokes so 2004, even for us godless liberals) but die-hards and behind the scenes fans will find some interest in the Lighting the Mood webdoc.
Interested parties will also be happy to hear that Robot Chicken: Star Wars will be rerunning on Adult Swim the night of October 14th, followed by the AS debut of Family Guy: Blue Harvest. (via)
Carrie Fisher to guest on 30 Rock
She plays Rosemary Howard, a writer and idol of Tiny Fey’s character. The episode airs October 25th.
Eureka! We have another season
SciFi has announced that we’re getting another season of Eureka. Per SyFyPortal, Eureka did very well for the network this season.
Color me happy. (Although hopefully not gold that soon gets eaten away, as happened on this week’s episode.)
Stargate Atlantis Friday!
Oh, won’t you be pleased when the new season of Stargate Atlantis finally gets going tonight? (10pm, Eastern, on SciFi) The roar of pre-season media hype will soon settle and help to keep down my geeky posts. But Club Jade stupidly said I could post on Stargate, so far be it from me to shirk my responsibilities.
Today’s nifty Stargate news:
– Great GateWorld interview with Tori Higginson about the Season 4 changes. (Don’t read, if you haven’t already heard.) Bottom line? Don’t be a hater, people.
– David Hewlett talks about the joys of working with beautiful women and productions of the film and human kind
– More from Amanda Tapping and Jewel Staite on their move to SGA.
Again. A wee bit spoilery, but nothing new if you’ve been watching the internet at all.
