Gate Geek – Here there be treasures….

Let’s face it. Our intrepid Mistress of the Web, Dunc, doesn’t get Stargate. And that’s okay, really. But I’m always excited when we’ve apparently seeped into her brain enough for her to find something for us. Warms my tiny little heart, it does!

Could you imagine wandering through a scrapyard and finding a bit of Stargate gold? Any guesses as to what this was used for? Let this blogger know.

Dumbleduff takes on Hogwarts

Harry Potter fans may want to tune into Ace of Cakes this Thursday, when Duff and company at Charm City Cakes create a bakery masterpiece for the Los Angeles Harry Potter premiere. The incessant Food Network promos have been featuring several Potter stars, including Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

Now, when are we going to get a Star Wars cake some episode face time?

The fandom minute: Nothing like dusting crops

Sci-Fi Channel may revive Caprica

According to AICN, the latest issue of TV Guide is reporting that the Sci-Fi Channel, desperate for scripts due to the strike, may give the Battlestar Galactica prequel project a greenlight after all. Of course, knowing Sci-Fi, they might not air it until 2010 anyway.

In the news: Wednesday morning reading list

A look into the abyss: Star Wars fan Christina Tolisano made an appearance on the premiere of American Idol, impressing no one. (She blogged her audition experience back in September.) Apparently there was a second SW geek, but it seems neither had a chance at being more than just random freak.
UPDATE: TOSblog has video and, oh god oh god, the second contestant is Man-Leia. RUN!

Whedon Women Kick Butt

So Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles seems to have settled off a bit from its post-NFL game premiere, but what seems to be getting the most attention is the new lady Terminator played by Firefly alum Summer Glau.

Watch with Kristin scored an interview with the Whedon protege the same day that IGN named her TV Babe of the Day. (Nice.)

Terminators rule the ratings

The premiere of The Sarah Connor Chronicles did very well last night: it can boast having “the best opening night demo ratings of any new show in three years,” according to Variety. Not too shabby, but fans best hope a good chunk of that audience keeps showing up, given the show is on Fox.
