Rebels trailer will debut May the 4th. Since we got the big one today, it only figures that StarWars.com will debut a new trailer for the cartoon at midnight Sunday (Pacific.) But! If you turn your TV to theDisney Channel and watch The New Yoda Chronicles and various other Disney/ABC stations, you may see it earlier.
Preview The New Yoda Chronicles with mini movies
UPDATE: Per writer Michael Price, The New Yoda Chronicles will debut May 3rd at 9:00 p.m. on Disney Channel before moving to DisneyXD for the 4th.
Getting us ready for May the 4th’s release of The New Yoda Chronicles on DisneyXD, LEGO has released a set of mini movies written by Michael Price. Helping transition viewers from the prequel trilogy to the original trilogy timeframe, these four shorts star Yoda, Vader, and the younglings. See Episode 4: Fall of the Republic above and watch the rest below the cut.

The New Yoda Chronicles to air May 4th on DisneyXD
MakingStarWars.Net discovered that a new LEGO Star Wars program will be airing on DisneyXD on May the Fourth. The New Yoda Chronicles: Escape from the Jedi Temple looks set in the classic trilogy timeframe, with Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon as well as LEGO Star Wars character JEK-14. The new show was first hinted at several months back with a new toy in the LEGO catalog.
The program airs at 7 pm and 9pm ET/PT. (The video above lists showtimes for Disney Channel Asia, which gets it on May 3rd, as does the UK.)
If you look closely, the LEGO title has been removed from the show title, as well as the addition of the word “New” to The Yoda Chronicles. These changes may have been done to neatly get by any existing deals with the previous U.S. broadcaster, Cartoon Network, as well as re-brand the show to fit the new storytelling timeframe. Notice that the word “Rebels” is mentioned in the trailer!
Video: Rebels debuts theme music, Hera clip at WonderCon; Composor Kevin Kiner returns
Composer Kevin Kiner (from The Clone Wars) returns for Rebels, and they debuted the show’s theme today at WonderCon. They also showed a clip of Hera and the Ghost in action, which you can see above.
And that’s it, really. I wasn’t really expecting anything major, but even a premiere date would have been nice. Oh well…
UPDATE: There’s a new interview with Kiner on Hero Complex, and a writeup from StarWars.com that also gives us a better look at all the concept art. And Kiner shares some new music in a second video: Is it the theme?

ABC and Disney to give bloggers a look at Rebels on May 4
ABC and Disney to give bloggers a look at Rebels on May 4. They’re having a Rebels dinner and exclusive sneak peek as part of their ‘Red Carpet Tailgate Premiere of Million Dollar Arm,’ an upcoming sports film starring John Hamm. Still, expect to hear a bit more about the show after that.
ABC’s The Goldbergs will have a Star Wars episode on May 6
I thought it was odd that Lucasfilm was collaborating with CBS’ The Big Bang Theory for a Star Wars Day episode instead of a show on Disney-owned ABC, but today we get word that The Goldbergs will have one as well – on May 6th:
The episode sees Adam (Sean Giambrone) and Erica (Hayley Orrantia) encounter elaborately costumed Star Wars fans, including Reno 911′s Thomas Lennon, while waiting in line at the Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi opening.
Now I have to wonder… Will NBC (Community? Parks and Rec?) or Fox (Brooklyn Nine-Nine?) get in on the Star Wars action as well?
Star Wars Rebels panel at WonderCon
WonderCon has posted the blurb for their Star Wars Rebels panel on Saturday, April 19 at 2:00p.m.
Members of the cast and crew of Star Wars Rebels present an exclusive look at the highly anticipated television series. Star Wars Rebels is set between Episodes III and IV, and it is a dark time in the galaxy. In the spirit of the original trilogy, the Empire is once again the preeminent villain of the saga, and Star Wars Rebels puts the might of Imperial forces in the spotlight. Produced by Lucasfilm Animation and featuring many of the key talents from the Emmy Award-winning Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels is scheduled to premiere this fall as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel; it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.
Looks like this could be our first chance to see the core cast and crew together. Alas, Saturday badges for WonderCon – held at the same Anaheim Convention Center that will host next year’s Celebration – are already sold out.
