Astronomers say they’ve found a 10th planet in orbit around our sun. Several objects have been found beyond Pluto before, but this is the first large enough to be considered a planet – it could be at least one and a half times larger than Pluto. Exciting news!
Astronomers detect ‘Tatooine planet’ – a gas giant with a triple-star system in the constellation Cygnus, 149 light-years from Earth. Pretty cool, huh? (via Rogue on the CJ list.)
National Geographic looks at how scientifically feasible the Star Wars galaxy is. As usual, the answer is “not very”, but it’s interesting (and educational!) to wonder.

The news of SpaceShipOne, the first ever privately owned manned space flight, has been all over the press. The technology has been licensed to Virgin, and in 2007, you too can experience the thrill of space flight for an estimated price of $190,000.
And of course… They’re naming the first ship Enterprise.
