Santa Maul has awakened! He wants a doughnut.
Santa Maul gave his Black Friday spiel last year, and he’s particularly cranky today, so will just get to it. Remember, the more shopping you do, the more websites Santa Maul gets to crash, and the happier he will become. Also, now he is on Twitter, where he will be posting any further deals he finds today.
- Another Sith whoring himself out for low, low prices… Star Wars Shop is apparently giving discounts. Santa Maul finds the Darth Vader alarm clock suitably schlocky for the occasion at hand.
- Speaking of schlock, Marc Ecko is giving away some stuff. Santa Maul was momentarily amused by the hoodies, but finds the rest rather tacky. Of course, he must accept that not everyone can reach his level.
- Thinkgeek has a coupon code for $10 off. Santa Maul yearns for a Samurai Sword Handle Umbrella but thinks that the USB humping dog is more likely to be appreciated by the teeming holiday masses.
- Entertainment Earth is also offering some Star Wars deals.
- Sideshow Collectibles has a 50% coupon code… But it only works on certain items. Santa Maul is sure you’re dying to own a statue of a giant slobbering slug.
In conclusion, humor.

How to get a job at Lucasfilm (in the 80’s)
Game designer Tim Schafer shares the tale (and scans) of how he got his first job in the industry, at Lucasfilm Games. (The LucasArts name didn’t join the party until 1990.) There’s some quality hilarity here:
I called David Fox right away and scribbled all the notes you see while I was talking to him. I told him how much I wanted to work at Lucasfilm, not because of Star Wars, but because I loved, “Ball Blaster.”
“Ball Blaster, eh?” he said.
“Yeah! I love Ball Blaster!” I said. It was true. I had broken a joystick playing that game on my Atari 800.
“Well, the name of the game is Ball Blazer.” Mr. Fox said, curtly. “It was only called Ball Blaster in the pirated version.”
Gulp.
But the best part may be his cover letter – which is in the style of a text adventure.

Eye candy: Louis Vuitton’s lightsaber fetish
As captured by Boing Boing’s Xeni in San Francisco, a window display that doesn’t exactly make us think of fashion… Though it is pretty cool.
Obama cements first geek status with lightsaber pics
His nerdiness has never been much of a secret, but pictures of President Obama with a toy lightsaber on the South Lawn Wednesday afternoon have stormed the internet! Fear not, there were real fencers and other athletes on hand – it was all an effort to promote Chicago’s bid to host the 2016 Olympics.
Brace yourselves for the full firepower of Universal’s Harry Potter theme park
Details of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter are out, and guys? J.K. Rowling is going to be so much richer. Sorry Disney, but I think it’ll take more sprucing than The Little Mermaid and Star Tours 2 to compete with this.
You can get a closer look at some of the concept art here.
What’s so special about this magic wand?
It can turn on your TV. No, really. The perfect gift for the squib in your life, I’m sure Santa Maul would say.
