IF Magazine interviews Lucasfilm’s Steve Sansweet on the upcoming superevent. He talks about the saga marathon and reveals there’ll be “a little bit” about Indy IV.
Friday LULZ: This. Is. SPARTAAAAAAA!
Bunny Tales: Episode IV — Bunny Wars
You’re never too old to rock n’ roll
Indy’s not too old to be doing chases on horseback or in cars, says the man who, at nearly the same age as Harrison Ford, is about to take part in his annual charity race for Toyota.
You tell ’em, George!
More interesting tidbits about IndyIV can be found in the same article.
The family that films together…
If you’re in the Fairfax, California area on Friday, you might want to check out the debut cinematical work of one Emma Burtt, 4th-grade daughter of Mr. Ben Burtt, the creator of the sound of Star Wars (and millions of other things).
Emma and father created a documentary about the crash of a B-17 in the area back in 1946.
Bet ya never knew that a B-17 crashed in the Fairfax area in 1946, did ya?
Black Christmas Director Dead
On a sad note, Canadian director Bob Clark and his 22-year-old son Ariel died in a car crash in California early Wednesday morning, according to imdb.com’s daily Movie/TV News column.
Clark directed a few genre films familiar to Club Jade movie fans, including 1974’s Black Christmas (recently remade), the Sherlock Holmes/Jack the Ripper pastiche Murder By Decree, and the low-budget zombie movie Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things. His most famous films include A Christmas Story, Porky’s, and Turk 182. He was 67.
X-Files movie rumors, again
Gillian Anderson says to Empire: “They’re starting to talk about doing a feature again. Every year or two they talk about it again, but it seems like it might be for real this time. Somehow it seems like somebody’s really serious about it. I know that Chris’ lawsuit with Fox is over, so maybe now it can be done.”
I want to believe (especially since she talks about it being more like a stand-alone episode where, in retrospect, the series was often strongest) but is it too little, too late? Or, with 80’s nostalgia is so hot right now, is it too soon to revisit the 90’s?
More Indy IV casting
Ray Winstone is the latest addition to the Indy IV cast, says the The Hollywood Reporter. Their sources say Winstone will play “Harrison Ford’s sidekick.”
This week in Harry Potter…
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will go green. Scholastic will be printing the book using tightened environmental standards, most notably recycled paper.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world finds Snape fandom. Thankfully it seems they haven’t run across his astral wives.
Raiding Hollywood’s closet
Samuel L. Jackson’s stunt lightsaber from AOTC and the Staff of Ra headpiece from Raiders of the Lost Ark are among the items in the latest Profiles in History auction. The big tickets are Christopher Reeve’s Superman costume from the 1978 film, and Val Kilmer’s Batman suit (is that the one with the nipples?) from Batman Forever.
