There are some videos as well as still shots from the teleporting-mutant movie Jumper with Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen, which comes out in a couple of weeks. Jackson twirls a mean taser! I wonder if he learned that by playing with lightsabers.
Video du jour: LOTR Blooper reel
It’s glorious.
We shall not speak of this again
Vivek Narain assigns Star Wars characters to football players. Knowing nothing about football except that the Lions will always suck, I leave the qualitative judgments to you. Nice photoshopping on the Fett dude, though.
Thus endth the yearly football post.
Yet another Indy IV photo
In today’s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull news, MTV has Indiana Jones in a familiar warehouse. Given how they’ve been playing up the location (it was also featured in the Vanity Fair shoot) I’m half-convinced it’ll end up being either a foiler or mostly irrelevant to the greater plot.
Guillermo del Toro in for Hobbit?
According to The Guardian, his official involvement with The Hobbit adaption was announced at the French premiere of The Orphanage.
Indy’s got a gun
Brand new Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull photo debuts (on print) Friday in the latest issue of Empire. You can check it out without all the extraneous junk over at StarWars.com, which also has behind-the-scenes video from Annie Leibovitz’s Vanity Fair photo shoot and the movie novelization cover.
ETA: And another!
Trek to Keep Trekkin’?
To butcher IDIC, it seems we could have infinite movies in the same combination…of the current cast, that is. According to an interview given to IGN by Anton Yelchin, who’ll be playing Chekov in the upcoming movie, he’s signed on for three Star Trek movies. (via)
Of course, as if mildly insulting Walter Koenig‘s dialect choices weren’t enough, he has probably started a fandom meltdown with this quote: “It’s so perfectly cheesy and B-like, and absolutely unapologetic for it.”
Granted, this was after he said he liked it. (And not entirely untrue.) But he does not realize the insanity of the fen. Poor, inexperienced boy.
More on the Indy IV teaser…
AICN has a possible text description of the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull teaser trailer – which will possibly be released on Paramount’s The Spiderwick Chronicles, which comes out on Feb 14.
Who might not be making it to the premieres and press tours for Indy IV? Cate Blanchett has another production due in April that might keep her from the red carpet. So sayeth the Sydney Morning Herald.
And in a bizarre twist of art-becoming-reality: There is a Club Obiwan in China – not in Shanghai in the 1930s.. but in Beijing in 2008. Jamaican BBQ and Chick Flick Nights! No time for clubbing, Dr. Jones!
Bad News, Harry Potter Fans
Because Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro is in talks to direct The Hobbit, it looks like he will be too busy to direct Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
