The first poster for the Order of the Phoenix adaption is out, featuring none other than Baddie McBad himself, the Big Cheese of Villianville (at least for Summer 2007) Lord Voldemort. The first trailer for the film is attached Happy Feet, the dancing penguin movie.
Oh no! Sci-fi movies might look chintzy on a high-def TV set. As a big fan of movies that look like ‘crap’ on a regular TV, I’m not all that worried.
No more Pirates for Keira Knightley. But is anyone really expecting a fourth movie anyway? More importantly, the release date for At Worlds End is currently set as May 25th, 2007, which is right smack in the middle of Celebration IV. Will CJers have to pack their pirate finery as well?

The rights to the first book of every 12-year-old’s favorite fantasy series, Piers Anthony’s Xanth, have been sold to Warner Brothers. Hollywood, are you really that hard up for a hit fantasy movie that you’re going to try for Xanth? I think I’d rather see Eragon, and I read approximately twenty of those books back in junior high.

Frank Darabont says George Lucas nixed his script:
[Spielberg] was ecstatic with the result and was ready to shoot it two years ago. He was very, very happy with the script and said it was the best draft of anything since Raiders of the Lost Ark. That’s really high praise and gave me a real sense of accomplishment, especially when you love the material you’re working on as much as I love the Indiana Jones films.
And then you have George Lucas read it and say, ‘Yeah, I don’t think so, I don’t like it.’ And then he resets it to zero when Spielberg is ready to shoot it that coming year, [which] is a real kick to the nuts. You can only waste so much time and so many years of your life on experiences like that, you can only get so emotionally invested and have the rug pulled out from under you before you say enough of that.
Bryan Singer will make another Superman movie. By the time it comes out, Superman Returns might even earn back it’s budget.
This has nothing to do with anything except that I used to have a weird crush on Jack Black – the trailer for Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny And if you’re cool with Tenacious D, I bet you’re jumping out windows in excitment for another Harold & Kumar movie.

64 reasons to watch Dungeons and Dragons. Because it makes TPM and AOTC look like The Godfather? I don’t know… I’m big on embracing the cheese, but I watched this movie on cable and it was awful. Maybe they ought to Rifftrax it.
That said, the reasons are pretty funny.
Speaking of Rifftrax, their mocking of The Phantom Menace is now available. Has it offended any uptight prequel fans yet? I want to know!
