Mary Poppins remixed as a horror movie. What is it about Julie Andrews? I’m pretty sure I linked a similiar recut of The Sound of Music – and a quick Youtube search reveals an even better trailer focusing on the movie’s historical elements.
Ask the wankas!
What do you get a Star Wars geek for Christmas? Ahh… Probably NOT the Holiday Special. Would be a fabulous White Wampa gift, though.
And fandom wept
A commercial I saw during last night’s finale of America’s Next Top Model (Shut up!) indicates that one of the geeks from the upcoming season of Beauty and the Geek is part of a “Star Wars tribute band.” He sings a few bars from a song about Han Solo.
I am disturbed. Which may be ironic for someone who runs a website containing the internet’s biggest collection of Star Wars filk (and admits to watching ANTM,) but so be it.

We Three Queens of Rose Parade Are
More news on the Rose Parade front– Kelsey reveals in her blog that she’ll be wearing the Episode I Black Post-Senate gown in the parade. Also, starwars.com has a great article on Kelsey and her two fellow Queens, who will be wearing the Episode I Red Senate Gown and the Episode II Packing Gown.
LFL snags “best band in the land”
As announced at Comic-Con, the famous Grambling State Marching Band will accompany the Star Wars Rose Bowl floats. They’ll be performing he main theme, the ‘Imperial March’ and the ‘Throne March’ in Pasadena.
For parade newbies and the generally sports-oblivious like myself, you can see several videos of their performances on Youtube thanks to the user GramblingTigers.
TFN thread of the indeterminate time period
Let’s all take a moment to be grateful the fanboys aren’t running the EU, shall we?
On the other hand, I’m still cracking up at the idea of Kevin J. Anderson’s Happy Fun Legacy Adventures, volumes one through four. In my head it turns out something like this.
LFL’s next lawsuit?
Remember the Universal Life Church’s Jedi Certification? The Arizona Daily Star may have let Lucasfilm in on the secret… And you know what that could mean!
I think I may need an infringement category…
Fandocs grow up, find sincerity
Fan documentaries move beyond pointing and laughing. Among the profiled films are George and Me and Heart of the Empire.
TFN thread of the indeterminate time period
NJO Redux: Poor Internally Consistent Characterization in LOTF is a rare gem from the TFN boards – title and bumpy start aside, it turns into an intriguing, civil (so far) discussion on characterization issues in the Legacy of the Force series, if you can stomach a few touches of outright fanboyism.
I know – I’m shocked, too.
