Big news… Hyperspace chat with Mary Franklin, who, in addition to being Celebration Bigwig and editor of Bantha Tracks, is also getting her due as the best bartender ever at fan sites such as RebelScum and TFN.
Perhaps The Hair will share a few recipes from the coveted bartending guide so we can attend the event in proper CJ style…

Now, here’s something that looks interesting – a Star Wars in Pop Culture room at Celebration 3. (They’re actually going to be showing a bit of the Holiday Special. Don’t tell George!) It seems to be mostly trailers and commercials and other promotional stuff, though. What about “Luke be a Jedi tonight” or all the great parodies? Maybe they’re still working on rights issues or something…
Last night, starwars.com posted a first look at C3 badges. The children’s badges use artwork from the next round of Clone Wars, and the adult versions have character headshots from ROTS. Hardcore collectors will be able to purchase a full set after the con.
In other news, Dave and Lou Elsey, Creature Shop Supervisors for ROTS, are confirmed guests.
Nick Gillard, Lucasfilm’s swordmaster and stunt coordinator for the prequels, will be at CIII. No events have been announced yet, but hopefully it’s not inconceivable that a demonstration will be involved.
We don’t have actual names, but C2 Ventures, who are responsible for bring autographing Star Wars celebrities to Celebration II and GenCon, will be back for Celebration III next April. They’ll be providing early hours for Fan Club members.
Because nothing brings geeks together like sitting in a dark room: Big Screen Clone Wars at Celebration III.
SE Luke somewhere in my closet aside, I am decidedly not a collector. But I think I might attend the Unproduced Toys panel, if only to get the story behind that Lounge Lizard Leia doll. It’s put on by some guy named Vic Wertz. Heard of him?
The R2-D2 Builders are returning for Celebration 3. At least 59 droids are expected to attend.
I know of at least one Club Jader who will be happy, yet overwhelmed, by this news.
It appears that Creation Entertainment (love ’em, or hate ’em) has snagged the rights to an official Stargate convention from the folks who had been running GateCon, lo these many years. But this new convention will feature not only set tours (for those who pay for it), but will also feature a cast talent night.
Now, it’s one weekend before Celebration 3. To attend the Stargate convention? Attend Celebration? Attend both and be in debt for a long time?
