Artist Lawrence Noble will be sculpting a bust of Obi-Wan Kenobi live at Celebration. Not only that, but a fan will be selected to recieve the piece once it’s cast. Pretty cool!
Also, more guests have been announced, including Bonnie Piesse, Ray Park, Michonne Bourriague, and Shannon McRandle.
SFers looking for something to do this weekend? Well, there are several Star Wars-centric events going on at WonderCon, including a You Can Draw panel, a LFL-sponsored SW Costume Prize, Lucas Licensing Portfolio Review and a showing of SW fanfilms. There’s also a ‘Tournament of Roses “Star Wars Spectacular” Parade Experience’ panel with several of the 501st participants on Sunday. Other stuff to see include the first showings of 300 and previews of Spider-Man 3 and Disney/Pixar’s Ratatouille.
Artists are coming to Celebration IV. No names yet, but I figure these folks are pretty good bets. Oh, and Celebration Europe is still on, in case you forgot.
The big news out of New York Comic Con: JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof are going to take Stephen King’s epic The Dark Tower series to film.
Not too much news on Star Wars from Dark Horse’s panel, but we did learn there’s to be a Force Unleashed graphic novel.

The Matters of the Force, the Star Wars track at Dragon*Con in Atlanta on Labor Day weekend, needs volunteers for this year. D*C is one of the country’s biggest fandom cons – I’ve been told several times that every media fan ought to go at least once.
With CJ not assembling at GenCon this year, many of us are looking to D*C to fill the void, so this could be a great opportunity…
