Rumor: Disney’s Indiana Jones stunt show closing to make room for more Star Wars. Construction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is apparently expected to begin in 2015. They’re also closing the American Idol Experience (there was a American Idol Experience? Gag.) to make room for this same project. An announcement is expected “in the coming weeks/months.”
Get an early look at Miller’s A New Dawn at SDCC
Del Rey will be holding giveaways for special (paperback) advance editions of John Jackson Miller’s A New Dawn, the first of the new canon novels, at San Diego Comic-Con next month. Miller will also be on hand for signings.
The special edition of the book will also contain excerpts of the other forthcoming novels that have been announced so far: Tarkin, Heir to the Jedi, and Lords of the Sith.
A New Dawn will be out in hardcover/eBook on September 2, followed by James Luceno’s Tarkin on November 4.

Star Wars Weekend #1: A message from J.J. Abrams and singing stormtroopers
Fans attending the first Star Wars Weekend this year at Disney World got a special message from J.J. Abrams. He doesn’t drop any mystery box bombs, but it’s a nice gesture.
And while the beloved/controversial Dance-Off With The Star Wars Stars has been replaced with a more “respectful” and “tasteful” finale show, there are Stormtroopers rocking out to Earth hits, which I suppose is something:

Here’s your first look at the Her Universe boutique at Darth’s Mall (complete with dressing room,) plus the My Hero display and new dresses waiting for buyers at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios for Star Wars Weekends. The new collection we saw last week is debuting there, and most will be available online as well.
The first Weekend of the year begins Friday with guests Ahmed Best, Peter Mayhew, and Vanessa Marshall.
