Two new comics and a reprint are coming to your favorite comic venue on Wednesday. Doctor Aphra #8 takes out ‘The Screaming Citadel’ crossover storyline, while Poe Dameron #16 looks deeper into the new villian. The reprint is a weird one: Called Droids Unplugged #1, it reprints shorter material from Poe Dameron #1, Star Wars #25 and Darth Maul #1. Marvel being Marvel, there’s an alternate cover version as well.
Star Wars out this week: Vader, Maul and Poe (oh my)
It’ll be a big Wednesday for comic fans, with three originals and two reprint collections. For single issues, you have Darth Vader #2, Darth Maul #4 and the Poe Dameron Annual #1 (which also has an alternate cover, naturally.)
The reprints are our first trade for Doctor Aphra, collecting #1-6, and the second for Poe Dameron, collecting #8-13.
Out this week: Star Wars #32
Out today is Star Wars #32, or part 4 of ‘The Screaming Citadel.’ Head on over to your preferred comic vendor to find out why Han Solo is sporting Twilight-style vampire eyes!
June is pretty slim on book releases, but we do have a handful coming out in July, including the Battlefront II tie-in Inferno Squadron by Christie Golden. It drops July 25. I generally don’t cover games (for my own sanity, and thus yours) but it did drop a gameplay trailer a few days ago. Battlefront II itself will be out in November. (And yeah, I did put it on my personal calendar, so that may very well be the next time I mention it.)
Star Wars out this week: New Darth Vader #1
Those looking for brand-new comics have two options this Wednesday: Darth Vader #1 (yes, another one – this time set just after Revenge of the Sith) and Rogue One #3.
There’s also a hardcover collection of Star Wars, Volume 2. It collects Star Wars #15-#25, plus Annual #1, and comes in a David Aja or Terry Dodson cover.
Star Wars out this week: Doctor Aphra #7
Coming to the comic shops this Wednesday is Doctor Aphra #7, which is also part 3 of The Screaming Citadel crossover. (Thus, Han.) Also arriving are second printings of Darth Maul #1 and #2.
Rogue One getting a prequel comic about Cassian and K-2SO
Cassian Andor and K-2SO are getting their own prequel – a Marvel comic. Cassian & K-2SO Special #1 will be written by Duane Swierczynski with art by Fernando Blanco, and will show how the pair met. Look for it in August.
Marvel takes on Mace Windu in Jedi of the Republic mini
Marvel’s next mini stars Mace Windu, and it’s got a very chunky, Dark Horse-style title: Jedi of the Republic — Mace Windu. (Most of Marvel’s titles have been very simple, and heavily dominated by character names, so this is something of a throwback.) Written by Matt Owens and illustrated by Denys Cowan, it’s set in the early Clone Wars period. The cover is by Jesus Saiz.
Look for the five-issue miniseries to begin in August.
Star Wars out this week: More Screaming Citadel, Poe
We’ve got two new comics in the shops this week. There’s Star Wars #31, which is also the second part of The Screaming Citadel crossover, plus Poe Dameron #15.
Star Wars out this week: The Screaming Citadel #1
On Wednesday, Marvel launches their second crossover event with The Screaming Citadel #1. The story will continue in Star Wars #31, Doctor Aphra #7, Star Wars #32 and Doctor Aphra #8.
There’s also a new Legends Epic Collection, Rebellion Vol. 2.
