The catchup: Friday morning reading list

Bling bling!George Lucas still is still raking in the cash – He’s #1 on Forbes’ list of the Biggest Celebrity Paydays of 2007 for Hasbro’s $200 million stock buy back.

Also…

Out this week, continued

Dark Horse: UR DOIN IT WRONGIndeed, Diamond does list Knights of the Old Republic #24 as shipping on Friday. And the wearisome Luke/Mara mush fans will be happy to learn that the latest 30th Anniversary hardcover, 1999’s Union, will also be gracing comic store shelves. Alas, the cover is still the one that caused at least half of Club Jade to flinch in embarrassment the first time around. Just remember: Underneath the horrid cover lies Stackpole. And butt bows. But mostly Stackpole.

And back to KOTOR, Dark Horse posted the preview for #24 today.

“I wanted to send Boba Fett to Hell. Instead he had a bad couple days in San Bernardino.”

I'm meeting you halfway, you crazy hippies! The Mando bug has never bitten me, but for those of you into the whole Boba Fett thing (or just want a brief behind-the-scenes look at the 90’s EU) check out this blog entry by Daniel Keys Moran reminiscing about Star Wars, as well as a two-part interview over at bobafett.com. Moran wrote a handful of SW shorts, most notably The Last One Standing, aka the Fett piece from Tales of the Bounty Hunters. (Warning: Some language, bitterness.)

And for the hardcore Fett fans who’ve already seen this all – Moran showed up yesterday in the TFN thread I nabbed the links from. (Thanks, Trip!)

Fury holds its ground

Usually a book drops down the bestsellers lists from the first to second week of release, but Aaron Allston’s latest LOTF offering is bucking that trend. Fury remains at #4 on the Publishers Weekly listing and slipped only one spot to #4 on the New York Times.

We’re not too surprised since it’s a fabulous read, but all of us at CJ are doing the Happy Emperor Dance nonetheless!
