- For those of you wondering about how Vector will be released in TPB, Sue Rostoni had this to say on Monday: “It will be published in two volumes, six issues each.”
- Rule of Two reviewed at SF Site.
- 501stCast has their full interview with Karen Traviss available.
There is no KOTOR III, or something
LucasArts tells IGN: “Yes, we are working with BioWare. We’ve announced that we’re working with the developer on a project, but it has nothing to do with Knights of the Old Republic.” (via)
A closer look at upcoming EU figures and toys
EU Cantina spotted these images of upcoming action figures, including the three (two spoilery!) variations of TFU’s ‘Secret Apprentice’ unboxed. But the real treat here is a look at the ‘Evolution of the Jedi’ pack, including what I believe is an NJO-era Luke Skywalker and KOTOR figures.
In other EU toy-type news, CJ reader Scoke discovered this giant list of box scans from WOTC’s new Legacy of the Force miniature line, which includes quite a variety of EU figures, from the Old Republic to folks from the Legacy comics.
Amazon has a date for new Encyclopedia
Discovered today on Amazon: A listing for The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia by Steve Sansweet and due out in November. Amazon has never been the most reliable source on the block, but we do know that an updated Encyclopedia is in the works, and a pre-Christmas date is certainly likely. Hopefully this is a sign we’ll be getting an official update on the book soon. (via)
Wallace throws bone to continuity freaks
Dan Wallace blogs that The Essential Atlas has made it through the first round of editing, and shares a handful of quotes. Said information will no doubt be up on the Wookieepedia with the hour, if it isn’t already.
Rumor: Knights of the Old Republic III
Comics from the future!
Rebelscum has Dark Horse’s May solicitations, including Dark Times #11/Vector part 5 (is that a cover spoiler I spy?) Legacy #24, Rebellion #14, Knights of the Old Republic #29, and several Indiana Jones titles, including one that takes a page from the popular Clone Wars Adventure series.
The Clone Wars: It’s a movie and a TV series!
USA Today: Clone Wars feature film, coming in August, leads into TV series. The series itself will follow, airing on the Cartoon Network and TNT.
StarWars.com has a few more details, including new stills and the first in a series of web-only documentaries. Naturally, there are the requisite t-shirts.
Variety has yet more details: The movie will run about a hundred minutes, and the only original actors reprising their roles are Anthony Daniels and Matthew Wood. George is executive producer, but it was directed by Dave Filoni, written by Henry Gilroy, Scott Murphy and Steven Melching, with Catherine Winder producing.
More than 30 episodes are “already produced,” whatever that means. (Almost done? Various stages of completion? Totally ready to go?)
Fan reaction to the announcement tonight has been generally squeeful, and as is the way of our people, a Livejournal community has been created for dedicated discussion of the series.
Speaking of dedicated, we now have a category just for The Clone Wars, though it only goes back to C4 at the moment. The catch-all SWTV is getting a bit crowded.
Not this week: Comics from the future!
There are no book or comic releases this week, but you can check out the previews for Legacy #20 and Dark Times #9.
The Jedi Council’s top 100 EU characters
In January TFN’s Jedi Council Literature board counted down their 100 favorite works; Now their buddies over in the EU Community have tackled the Top 100 Expanded Universe characters.
Once again, I’ve copied the top 20 below the cut. Some of their choices might surprise you… Or maybe not, depending how much you read TFN. Continue reading “The Jedi Council’s top 100 EU characters”
