And for those of you who follow Legacy in trade paperbacks, the Claws of the Dragon collection comes out as well. It’s a storyline you don’t want to miss.
So sayth the official blog this evening: Stover’s Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor has been moved back to December, and Luceno’s Millennium Falcon moved up to October. But the main focus of the post is a nice bit from artist Dave Seeley on the how and why of the image, and we get our first look at Mindor’s back cover – Lord Shadowspawn.
This is also the second time we’ve gotten a real news item via the blog… Interesting, no? (I suppose an all-Flash site would be mildly bearable if this method continues. Permalinks good!)
Our latest poll went up yesterday, and asks which upcoming novel you’re straining at the bit for – The Coruscant Nights trilogy by Michael Reaves (The first book, Jedi Twilight, comes out in two weeks,) Karen Traviss’ Order 66 (September 16,) Matthew Stover’s Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor (December) or James Luceno’s Millennium Falcon (October.) Vote on the sidebar or under the cut. Continue reading “Poll: Upcoming Star Wars novels”
On the Dark Horse boards, Randy Stradley shares a new cover (by Adam Hughes) and the content list for Luke Skywalker: Last Hope for the Galaxy. It’s a pretty nice selection, and looks to include some of Marvel’s Shira Brie/Lumiya arc and a bit from Dark Horse’s only NJO-era comic, the Chewbacca mini-series. See the full list under the cut. Over at RandomHouse.com, there’s a new release date for Dan Wallace and Jason Fry’s The Essential Atlas – February 25, 2009. (It was previously in for this September.) On the plus side, we learn that it will total 256 pages, just a tad heftier than Wallace’s New Essential Chronology.
I kind of missed the pie charts, until I made two of them in a single night. Anyway, here are the results of our two-week polls concerning the two biggest events of May: the final Legacy of the Force novel (fig. 1) and the long-awaited fourth Indiana Jones movie (fig. 2.) Overall, it seems you guys liked them – although you clearly liked Indy a lot more. Of course, he received the most votes as well – 154 to Invincible’s 119. (Not too shabby on the book’s part, even considering that our audience is a bit skewed in that regard.)
According to her website, the Republic Commando author will on hand in San Diego July 24-27 for the convention, just in time for The Clone Wars novelization to hit the shelves – if it really is coming out on July 26, that is. Are they going to wait until the con to officially announce this thing? Any day now… I hope. (via)
Rebelscum has Dark Horse’s solicitations for September, including Clone Wars, a new miniseries that will “compliment” the movie and TV series. Also, Vector jumps into the future with Legacy #28.
