Star Wars with occasional sarcasm
It doesn’t take a whole lot for Star Wars fans to panic, and the latest one was the low page count Amazon gave for the new Aaron Allston mystery book. Sue says:
They can’t count the pages of a book that hasn’t been written yet.
Naturally. On the other hand, this is more or less a confirmation that the book isn’t just an Amazon fever dream.

There’s been an interesting fanfic discussion thread over on TFN’s Literature boards, and for a conversation I thought would drop like a stone it’s actually turned out fairly interesting. (Silly title and all.)
Things are starting to get a little heated towards the end, but such is the risk one takes with TFN.
Amazon.ca has a listing for Fate of the Jedi 1, a new Star Wars hardcover from Aaron Allston. ‘Fate of the Jedi’ sounds like a (post-ROTS?) series name to me… Amazon gives the street date as March 24, 2009, making this our first contender for the big spring release. As always, we’re a bit wary of Amazon ‘reveals,’ but it’s certainly a possibility. (via)

The results of our continuity poll are in, and it reveals that most of CJ’s readers ( a whooping 54%) are of the school that doesn’t sweat the small stuff, while 27% of you care quite a bit, 11% of you don’t really care much as long as the major stuff is consistant, and only 8% of you turn an extremely selective eye upon the process. Yay?

I try to only listen to about one podcast a year – life, or rather, the amount of it I allot to blogging, is far too short – but I couldn’t avoid the latest Force-Cast since it’s basically an extended interview with Lucasfilm’s Head of Fan Relations, Steve Sansweet. (Yes, it was worth it, though the intro… I need to paraphrase Lorelei Gilmore: Shorten it, decute it.) Anyway, here’s what I learned:
The podcast on the whole is a manageable 23 minutes, so I would recommend you listen to it yourself – at least if you want to hear more about Celebration Japan or the Encyclopedia.
Eddie of Star Wars Chronology spotted a Legacy Era Campaign Guide on Amazon. It has a release date of March 2009 and lists Star Wars RPG regulars Rodney Thompson, Sterling Hershey, and Gary Astleford as authors. (Perusing their listings also turns up campaign guides for The Clone Wars and The Force Unleashed.)
Remember, Amazon is not exactly a reliable news source, so we can’t be 100% sure of this… But seeing as they’re doing a KOTOR guide I don’t doubt they’re up for detailing other EU eras.

Speaking of KOTOR, Wizards of the Coast is gearing up for the release of the Knights of the Old Republic campaign guide and miniatures in August with some previews – the first of which went up yesterday. (via)
