EUbits: Dark Times returning, TOR, Endor

Comics: There’s a new update from Editor Randy Stradley on Dark Horse’s Star Wars Zone, and it’s of particular interest to you Dark Times fans. A new story will appear (online, for free) in the January and February issues of Dark Horse Presents on MySpace, with the comic coming back into regular rotation with #13 in April. (Thanks, Zee Zee!)

Wacky merchandise of the day: Personalized what?

I realize that I am in the minority here, but I’ve always thought that getting books signed by their author is rather pointless. So I really don’t understand why anyone would want to bother getting an edition of a Star Wars novel with a personalized dedication page. (At least they’re not offering to do a find-and-replace with [insert character here]?) I suppose it makes sense for gifts, and it’s getting be that season… But still. Oh well: Whatever floats your boat.

EUbits: Watson’s National Book Award, Karen Miller interviewed, KOTOR preview, Jacen Solo

Awards: Judy Blundell, better known to Star Wars fans as Jude Watson, author of the Jedi Apprentice, Jedi Quest, and Last of the Jedi series’ for Scholastic, has won the National Book Award for her novel What I Saw and How I Lied.

Star Wars: Adventures Volume 1: Han Solo and the Hollow Moon of KhoryaDark Horse’s February/April solicitations, includes our first look at Star Wars: Adventures Volume 1: Han Solo and the Hollow Moon of Khorya (the April part of the equation,) as well as Legacy #33, Knights of the Old Republic #38, The Clone Wars #4 and an Emissaries and Assassins omnibus.

  • Bonnie interviews Jonathan Bresman, Senior Editor of MAD Kids, about their upcoming Clone Wars cover. Alas, doesn’t address my burning question of how a kid’s version of Mad magazine is not epically redundant.
  • Radio: Sean Williams will be on ABC Radio National’s The Book Show next Tuesday. That’s Australian ABC, but a podcast version will be posted for the rest of the world.

Sue Rostoni talks Blood Oath cover

She’s back on the StarWars.com boards and had this to say about Dave Seeley’s cover for Elaine Cunnigham’s Blood Oath, including some hints at the book’s content:

We received the “final” cover art yesterday, but one of the other characters on the cover had to have her blaster changed — it looked too earth-bound, so we’re having it changed to a more Star Wars hold-out blaster style. Dave Seeley is painting the cover, and it looks awesome — At first glance it looks a bit like a romance novel cover, but don’t let that put you off. The cover features Zekk up front, with two women in the background… Hapan women… women you may remember from a previous LotF novel… oh, I just spilled my coffee — hang on a moment…
