The apparent replacement for the Chuck Wendig Shadow of Vader series has been announced: Vader: Dark Visions. Marvel fired Wendig in October for being “too vulgar, too political” on Twitter and canceled the book last month.

More authors join Celebration Chicago lineup
The author lineup for Celebration Chicago is growing, adding E.K. Johnston, Justina Ireland and Zoraida Córdova. They join an already impressive list which includes Timothy Zahn, Delilah Dawson, and Claudia Gray.
Gray and Johnston both have new Star Wars books coming out in the spring: Johnston’s Padme YA novel Queen’s Shadow is out March 5, while Gray’s Master and Apprentice is due April 16, just after the con, so we can likely expect a convention exclusive version.
Celebration Chicago is being held April 11-15, 2019 at McCormick Place.
Star Wars out this week: Age of Republic begins with Qui-Gon Jinn
This Wednesday, December 5 brings three new comics and a trade. Marvel is launching Age of Republic: Qui-Gon Jinn #1, the first of a 30-issue series that will eventually evolve into Age of Rebellion and (as we approach Episode IX) Age of Resistance. There’s also Star Wars #58 and Poe Dameron Volume 5. And from IDW, Destroyer Down #2.
Star Wars out this week: The Last Jedi in paperback, Millennium Falcon guide
One new book, one reprint and a brand new comic are coming to stores this week. Out Tuesday, November 27 is Millennium Falcon: Owners’ Workshop Manual by Ryder Windham, Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas, as well as the paperback edition of Jason Fry’s The Last Jedi novelization. Fry has been tweeting some behind-the-scenes info about writing the book.
On Wednesday, November 28, we get Darth Vader #24, the second-to-last issue of the ongoing.
Out this week: Star Wars, Solo
Just two comics coming on Wednesday, November 21: Star Wars #57 (the solicitation is very excited about “Shirtless HAN SOLO, chopping wood,” which I guess explains the American Gothic riff on the cover) and Solo #2, both from Marvel.
Star Wars out this week: Darth Vader, Doctor Aphra
Two brand new comics are coming to stores on Wednesday, November 14 – Darth Vader #23 and Doctor Aphra #26.
Although there are no doubt plenty more comics coming, we’re down to only two books for the rest of the year- The Last Jedi novelization in paperback and the Millennium Falcon: Owners’ Workshop Manual will both be out on the 27th. Look ahead with our book release schedule.
