Carrie Fisher might have haunted the Rise of Skywalker presser (and other news)

Today was the film’s big press day, which meant that Kathleen Kennedy, Chris Terrio, Billy Dee Williams and the elusive Adam Driver all joined the folks we’ve been seeing over the past few days… Plus, quite possibly, the ghost of Carrie Fisher.

Here’s are writeups of the whole thing from SyFy, /Film and io9… And video:

(I’ll add more if I see them, but also note this means individual interviews were recorded today as well, so I will probably have to be far more selective in future roundups.)

Today from Vanity Fair and Anthony Breznican, we learn that new Force powers are coming in the film.

“It was really important that we not just redo the things you’ve seen, but add new elements—which we knew will infuriate some people and thrill others,” Abrams told Vanity Fair.

TBF, what doesn’t make some elements of this fandom mad? We’ve seen it all!

Today began with Richard E. Grant’s effusive praise for the film.

Later, Joonas Suotamo weighed in:

Like The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi before it, The Rise of Skywalker is rated PG-13. (via)

Yesterday’s line-up at Galaxy’s Edge with Entertainment Tonight’s Ash Crossan. They talk abut filming together, Carrie Fisher and who’s most likely to spoil.

In the annoying genre of one-word answers, EW asks Daisy Ridley to give one word to tease the film and she goes with… “Cyclops.” I don’t even know.

Billy Dee Williams addresses the various interpretations on his comments on gender from last week.

And Greg Grunberg is talking Snap Wexley on the latest Star Wars Show.

Several new commercials:

Star Wars writers – Alan Dean Foster, John Ostrander, John Jackson Miller, David Michelinie, Jo Duffy, Tom Veitch and Kevin J. Anderson – on how they would end the Skywalker saga. It is… A read.
