King of Google 2004

Orlando Bloom is the male whose name was most frequently searched for on Google in 2004. And it wasn’t all my doing. I swear!

The Times (UK) also reports:

Bloom’s rise to global stardom is revealed in a study that claims to capture the spirit of the age. However, the Google Zeitgeist report also reveals that despite efforts to promote a more wholesome web, less noble instincts continue to dominate cyberspace.

Must be all that Hobbit slash. ;)

“Kingdom of Heaven” official site up

The official site for “Kingdom of Heaven” is up. Character listing. Story synopsis. The trailer in three sizes. All of the good. Not a whole lot of substance though.

AICN also had an early review from someone guy who saw a test screening a couple of weeks back. Full of spoilers, but quite positive.

A May 6 release date, at the start of the big movie season, and just two weeks before “Revenge of the Sith,” suggests the studio has quite a bit of confidence in it.

Academia lives in the GFFA

Literary analysis. Scholarly essays. Academic review.

If all of that makes your heart beat faster (with joy, not fear), have we got the website for you! A group of fans have just started a very promising looking online journal entitled Saga Journal.

Here’s the skinny:

Here at the Saga Journal, we believe Star Wars is more than just an enjoyable space opera set in a galaxy far, far away. We recognize it as a modern myth, a cultural phenomenon all its own. We want to encourage the literary exploration of all aspects of the story as presented in the Prequel and Original Trilogy films.

And, yes, they are seeking submissions.
