Happiness for Stargate Fans?

There has been much turmoil and angst, lately, amongst the Stargate fans with the news of SG-1’s cancellation and casting changes for Atlantis.

But David Hewlett has hinted in an e-mail interview about his upcoming film A Dog’s Breakfast that there could be joy around the corner:

“There’s also a TV project that the Stargate fans are going to get a huge kick out of. Look for that to be announced any day now!”

Could there be joy in the Pegasus Galaxy?

Stargate News Roundup

Amanda Tapping (aka Sam Carter) speaks with GateWorld about the journey of her character and the understandable trepidation of fans who have heard the rumor of her going to Atlantis.

Michael Shanks (aka Daniel Jackson) is no longer Mr. Nice Guy in his upcoming movie, as told to MichaelShanksOnline by the movie’s director.

And a belated congratulations to David Hewlett (aka Rodney McKay) and The Lovely Jane Loughman (TM) who have finally done what everyone else figured they would eventually: they got engaged. (One less cute geek on the market.)

And the cover art has finally been revealed for the long-awaited (really long-awaited) Stargate Atlantis Season 2 DVD.

Sci-Fi Geeks Make the “Hot List”

As ongoing evidence of geeks taking over the world, MovieHole has named two sci-fi geeks onto their Hot Stars of 2007 list.

Nathan Fillion, of Firefly fame, was named as one to watch thanks to his upcoming film White Noise: The Light.

And the entirely-too-adorable Masi Oka, from Heroes, proves that a lot of enthusiasm can get you anywhere as he has been tapped for two more film projects.

Thanks to Whedonesque for the heads-up.

The Club Jade review of Sculpting a Galaxy

So when Insight Editions (the folks who made the gorgeous Dressing a Galaxy, last year) announced a book about the models? I was a bit torn.

Sure. I collect all the books. But I was going for the Limited Edition one. And the price is not cheap. However, I can finally admit to having fallen to the model side of The Force by saying that it is totally worth spending obscene amounts of money to pick up the Limited Edition of: Sculpting a Galaxy: Inside the Star Wars Model Shop.

Totally worth it.
