Goodbye, SG1, and Thanks for the Replicators

Tonight is the series finale of Stargate SG1. And while we might be comforted by the fact that we know two more movies are coming out, it’s still a bit nostalgic. (Plus, the finale has gotten rave reviews from those in Canada who have already seen it.)

If you have a spare $200 lying around, GateWorld somehow got the extra 1,000 copies of a memory book made for the SG1 cast and crew. You can get it, along with a cast member’s autograph, for $200. Of particular cuteness is the article describing the pack of cast and crew dogs who have the run of the studios. (I wish I hadn’t spent so much money at CIV.)

There are also a few tribute articles to be found:

Geeky Do-Good Thing of the Week

Michael Shanks, who is just wrapping up a 10-year stint playing Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1, is holding his third annual auction to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

In addition to the truly bizarre things (like the costume he wore for a college production of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”), you can also find SG-1 scripts and nifty signed things from all the Vancouver-area sci-fi productions.

It’s a Zombie Chick Flick Movie!

After a slight delay to deal with real life, Star Wars author Aaron Allston has gotten some coverage for his upcoming film Deadbacks.

This piece is from an Austin public television show that does stories on local films. A little slow in parts, but a lot of fun to watch the behind-the-scenes stuff and Aaron walking around in a 501st shirt.

It feels a little like Ain’t It Cool to say that we’ve seen some stuff from this movie and it’s going to be a lot of fun! Stay tuned to Club Jade for more from this film as it readies.
