Babylon5 Boldly Returns

As if there weren’t enough genre things to keep a fan giddy this summer, Babylon5 fans (including Captain Sheridan himself, Bruce Boxleitner) are getting ready for the release of the upcoming DVD The Lost Tales – Voices in the Dark on July 31st.

Dust off your Centauri hair.

Farscape Revived

There are many in Club Jade who mourned the passing of Farscape. Now they can take the pins out of the SciFi voo-doo dolls as the network is commissioning new episodes to air on the web.

And the natives rejoiced.

BSG without all that pesky watching

Intrigued by Battlestar Galactica, but don’t want to commit to watching everything from the beginning?

No worries. Several enterprising folk put it all together for a five minute time commitment:

Hot Leather Aliens

More articles from the recent SciFi Vancouver Media Tour include this small tidbit about the new aliens for Stargate Atlantis Season 4. The Pegasus Galaxy is going to be getting an advanced alien race called The Travelers. David Hewlett (Rodney McKay) describes them as “hot leather aliens.”

In other Stargate Atlantis news, the cover art for the Season 3 DVD has been released. (I’m not impressed.)

Eureka! It’s a new season!

The new season of Eureka starts up tonight (Tuesday) on SciFi. Apparently there’s quite the nifty new Global Dynamics set that has sprung up in the wake of last year’s explosive ending.

And at least The Detroit News finds this show to be as funny as I do.

Middle Earth Found in Switzerland

The Swiss village of Saint-Ursanne has hired Lord of the Rings artist John Howe to add some fantastical touches to its town for the Saint-Ursanne La Fantastique festival.

Perhaps a fun side trip after Celebration Europe?

The Future of Stargate

Part 2 of GateWorld’s interview with Robert Cooper is up.

Lots of nifty stuff in there about the upcoming movies, the new series in development, the new world of distribution, and his upcoming SGA Season 4 episode Doppleganger.

Oh. And why it really wasn’t a good idea for him to see Jaws at the age of seven.

Book Review: The Art of Ralph McQuarrie

After a bit of haggling with FedEx, I finally got my copy of The Art of Ralph McQuarrie.

Wow. I never realized how much breadth of talent Ralph McQuarrie has. Sure, he created some of the most iconic images in Star Wars. Sure, he clearly has a great understanding of design. But I just never realized.
