And, as previously reported, it would be Karl Urban who is that “I.” StarTrek.com officially announced it to the world.

For those who don’t frequent the page, you can find a fun recap of each week’s Heroes episode on Watch with Kristin. And because she is such good friends with so much of the cast, you can then move on to the spoiler section for some very interesting teases of what’s coming.
Was I the only one intrigued by what Nathan saw in the mirror?
It looks like things are really starting to come together for another X-Files film. You know it’s serious in Hollywood when the leads meet for lunch.
Okay. We’ll start first with actual news, since TV Guide has an interview with Zachary Quinto. He’s had his first ears fitting. How cool would that be? (The article is mostly about Heroes, though.)
Now, let’s open up the gossip cage with talk about Bones. What about LOTR’s Karl Urban? According to the gossip, they’re interested if they can work out schedules.
Gossip is apparently panning out, if the blogosphere is to be believed. According to the director of White Jazz, Chris Pine has had to drop out of that film so he can play Captain Kirk.
Okay, now are we missing anyone?
Is it true? Are things finally moving officially on the live action show?
According to Entertainment Weekly, Uncle George is taking a trip into Hollywood next week to make the final selections on writers.
They’ll then get to go to Skywalker Ranch for a week to plot their course before dispersing for the actual writing. I wonder if they’ll get to stay at the guest houses?
Joe Mallozzi has posted the deleted scenes from last week’s Stargate Atlantis episode, Reunion.
Granted, you have to read and imagine, but it’s interesting to see what might have been and why they weren’t included.
Oh, my dear fans, your gossiping skills are failing you! In spite of the ongoing rumors (or maybe because of?), the role of Scotty in the new Trek movie did not go to anyone on the rumor mill. Instead? It has been given to Simon Pegg.
Yes. That Simon Pegg from Shaun of the Dead. I’m assuming there will be some sort of hair dying involved.
And in a surprisingly rumor-free role, the new Sulu is John Cho, most famous for Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.
Somehow, one gets the feeling that there’s a joke lingering somewhere around this casting of comedians. But at least there’s some casting getting done! Now who’s left to cast? Will we get to see Uhura in this one?
The commitment-phobic Big Three networks are apparently giving the TV version of a promise ring to several new genre shows. According to E!’s Watch With Kristin, Chuck, Bionic Woman and Journeyman have gotten orders for a few more scripts.
Okay, not the ringing endorsement of the rest of a full season, but better than dropping them altogether. And it gives them a little time to either find some audience or hang it up.
Next up on the Star Trek hit parade is Chris Pine as the latest someone “being considered” to play Kirk.
Of apparently more reliable casting news, Eric Bana has been signed to play the villain.
