Costume designer John Mollo, who won an Oscar for A New Hope, has died at age 86. He also worked on The Empire Strikes Back, Alien, and co-won a second Oscar for Gandhi.

USA Today has a great behind-the-scenes video of The Last Jedi, and they also talk to Rian Johnson about Luke – complete with a new still, above. Here’s what Johnson had to say about it:
Luke Skywalker has been in exile for years when Rey finds him on the island of Ahch-To, but the Jedi’s ancient tomes don’t look like easy reading. “It would be funny if you zoom in on that bookshelf and it’s all Robert Ludlum thrillers,” says Johnson, whose first duty was figuring out why Luke was there. “So when you see it in totality you’re like, ‘Oh, OK, this is why the galaxy’s greatest optimist and hero would be doing this.’ ” Johnson promises that Luke’s still strong and the years of isolation haven’t dulled his mind at all. “(Hamill’s) always been handsome and he’s just in this place now where he’s got so much gravity: You point a camera at his face and you feel depth and wisdom. He’s seen some stuff.”

On sale this week is the next entry in the runup to The Last Jedi and one comic. Tuesday, October 25 brings Stormtroopers: Beyond the Armor by Ryder Windham and Adam Bray with a forward by John Boyega. At the comic shop on Wednesday, October 26 is Mace Windu: Jedi of the Republic #3.
With the next episode ‘In the Name of the Rebellion,’ Disney XD is dropping the midnight on-air debuts of Star Wars Rebels, going back to last season’s status quo. The new episodes will still appear on the Disney Now app at midnight, but will air for the first time at 9:00 p.m. Monday ET/PT.
Star Tours will debut a new The Last Jedi-based sequence at Disneyland and Hollywood Studios next month. The salt planet Crait will appear in a new sequence starting November 17 at both U.S. parks. Disneyland Paris will get it on November 22, while it goes into rotation at Tokyo Disneyland on December 15.
Coming to the Star Wars comics line in January… A one-shot about Benecio Del Toro’s DJ. Today’s Star Wars Show revealed that the issue will be about DJ leading into The Last Jedi. (There’s also a Chuck Wendig interview.)

Rebels heads back to the Rebellion – and the show’s first look at Yavin – with ‘In the Name of the Rebellion.’ It features the less than joyous return of Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), as seen in the preview clip.
The two-part ‘In the Name of the Rebellion.’ will air on Disney XD Monday, at 9:00pm EDT/PDT, and be available at midnight on the Disney Now app.
