The folks at Fametracker serve up Natalie Portman’s Fame Audit. She gets off pretty easy, but this is not a link for your oversensitive fans. The snark-impaired should stick with FT’s take on Moulin Rouge-era Ewan McGregor and Shaft-era Samuel L. Jackson.
Sneak Peak Toys!
Starwars.com has a preview of the Sneak Preview action figures from Hasbro, which will be in stores this February. There are five in total, 4 characters and a starfighter.
Alas, slashing action does not appear to be an option.
Natalie Portman to play Idaho Jones?
The rumor mill is buzzing that Natalie Portman wants to work with George Lucas again:
Portman, 23 , obviously doesn’t have to break into cold sweat to reflect on her time on the Star Wars films. There’s already talking about the actress working with George Lucas again on another multi-million dollar franchise entry, Indiana Jones. Even before filming had wrapped on The Phantom Menace, Portman let the director know that she’d love a part in the next Indiana Jones movie back, and the word is, he might have found a slot for her in the anticipated sequel. Smells like Indiana Jones has an offspring.
For Star Wars fans, that could be more than a little weird.
Bitch, I cut you!
The 6 minute ROTK extended edition preview can now be seen at lordoftherings.net. Movielicious!
Et tu, Anne#2?
Apparently, Anne McCaffrey is trying to beat Anne Rice in the “Most Obnoxious Fantasy Writer” contest…
Not mentioned in Exhibit D, or elsewhere, is the fact that Mr. Austin had his lawsuit papers secretly served to her at Dragon*Con, because it was the only way to reach her in person.
An early peek at the ROTK Extended Edition
See a two minute preview of the extended edition of Return of the King at Crave. A 6-minute trailer will be released on the 29th, but why wait?
It gets into everything.
Han/Luke is the third Star Wars ‘ship to make Livejournal’s Ship Manifesto. You’ll never watch A New Hope the same way again.
ROTS Bookshelf
Starwars.com has posted a complete book release list for Return of the Sith. Both non-fiction (well, if you consider background info on fiction non-fiction) and novels are covered. If you can only get one thing on the list, though, I recommend The Art of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. My copies of TPM and AOTC editions have seen more action than the actual DVDs.
Serenity… in September
So much for those tentative plans to see Serenity with fannish buds at Celebration 3… Universal Pictures has moved the release date from April 22nd to September 30th, and Joss Whedon himself posted at fan site Whedonesque with the news.
The delay hasn’t been received very well by the fandom, but I can’t help but think this is a good thing. It avoids the chances of Serenity getting creamed by Episode 3. Secondly, after ROTS is out we’ll need some comfort food. Not because the movie will rock or suck or who-knows-what else, but because it’s the last SW movie ever.
And you know what? We’re still getting a Firefly movie. And that’s the most important reason of all.
Lazy Blogger
Coming Soon has posted their latest Star Wars roundup – mostly ROTS stuff, including speculation on a rumored character appearance, prospective merchandise and a selection of links. And, yes, Yav’s new favorite shirt.
