Trailer for Peter Jackson’s King Kong is out. I’m not quite sure what to think, really. I always thought King Kong was kinda dumb. But the trailer is actually good. Dilemma!

Let me say this is my first podcast, and only third (I think) venture into the world of fan audio. But with the latest version of iTunes, getting a podcast has become a no-brainer, so I thought I’d give it a try.

Having witnessed – several times – the raucous explosion of theory and speculation that followed each reveal of the new Harry Potter cover art, I truly enjoyed McSweeney’s Things you can learn about the plot of the next Harry Potter book just by looking at the cover art. Sadly, it’s closer to the serious speculation than you’d think. Which proves my theory that rabid HP fans are totally crazy.
Of course, all hardcore fans are crazy. Even I’m not going to deny that one.
Fans have the chance to write an official backstory. Every week, starwars.com will post a new extra or object, and Hyperspace members can submit their take. The winning stories will get to be part of the starwars.com databank.
An intriguing, if overly fanboy, look at how the prequel and original trilogies could be connected. Features R2-D2 as a Rebel field agent, Qui-Gon Jinn as undead method of communication, and Chewbacca as the Rebellion’s top-line spy. Reads more as a fanfic outline than garden-variety speculation – as far-fetched as it may be, there’s enough out-of-nowhere connections to make George Lucas proud. (via Cinematical.)
