I swear I have a battered hand-me-down Barbie case (this one, in blue) that looks a lot like the Gilmore Girls complete series case. Honestly I’m not sure if that’s a homage or an insult. GG isn’t The Sopranos or anything, but Barbie?

In a way, that case represents everything that went wrong with that series once the Palladinos were gone…
Yuck. I could see a cute little suitcase box for the series, but more like one for Wonder Woman than Barbie for the Gilmore Girls.
Oh geez. After looking at the article that shows the contents of the box, I was reminded of the episode where Rory dresses up like Donna Reed and cooks for Dean… O.O
Yeah. That’s not how I think of Gilmore Girls. Perhaps they would be better off going with a coffee can. Now that says gilmore Girls to me!
Now that’s an interesting look. It’s sort of retro, which I like, but it is definitely highly girly, which I’m not certain about. You sort of miss the fact that at least when the Palladinos were there, guys liked this show too…
You HAVE That Barbie Case? Are there actual Barbies in it? Would you be horrified if I told you ownership of that case makes you just that much cooler to me?
Hee. Haven’t seen a single ep of GG since the first season ended. But I kinda like the retro look of the box set.

Yeah, it was my mother’s. Beat up all to hell, though. And I don’t think there are Barbies in it… My last Barbie (a late-80’s model) is actually in the kitty’s toybox at my parent’s house.
I did have the original Barbie and an early Skipper once upon a time, also hand-me-down. They were far from collector condition (Barbie’s dress and stuff were long gone, my mother had cut most of Skipper’s hair off) and I think I sold them at a garage sale when I was 13. I’m not even sure why I still have the case – no one wanted it, probably. So don’t hand over the cool points yet.
