The University of Iowa Libraries, with the help of the Organization for Transformative Works (OTW,) has acquired The Fanzine Archive, a collection of 3,000 classic fanzines long managed by Mariellen (Ming) Wathne. The bulk of Ming’s collection are Star Wars titles originally collected by Lucasfilm themselves, a valuable cache of fandom and fanfic history. There’ll be a new trailer aired with the premiere of Warehouse13 on SciFiSyFY. But those lovely, sneaky folks at GateWorld already have it. (It looks great! Um. Sorry.) Plus, the first official episode picture. It’s akin to the sonogram, I suppose?
In addition, we know that the cast will be making their official debut at ComicCon on Friday. (Cruel choice for those who are also Star Wars fans. Thankfully my dislike of crowds keeps me from being put into that position.)
And just what is the official site doing behind that “under construction” sign?
Because we have a Star Wars schedule. The Clone Wars, The Old Republic and the Fate of the Jedi (with all three authors!) panels are all on Friday. And so is the Star Wars Spectacular, which basically means that all the ‘breaking news’ from it will already be public by the time it’s shown on G4. Nice, by which I mean something unprintable.
Havac on TheForce.Net boards spotted this zombierific poster. Since a tie-in with the MMO is planned, this isn’t totally out of the blue. Check out the poster beneath the cut.

This is only the first batch of classic LucasArts games to be released – and noticeably some popular game franchises are absent, possibly to be re-released in future batches: Maniac Mansion, X-Wing, Dark Forces, and Grim Fandango. No pricing information is yet available.
Meanwhile, the new Monkey Island game from Telltale Games, has its first episode coming out tomorrow, Tales of Monkey Island – Chapter 1: Launch of the Screaming Narwhal for PC. The Wii version will be released in the coming weeks.
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was also included as a bonus game in the Wii version of Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, released in June 2009.
The second Fate of the Jedi book has, like its predecessor, staked out spots on the various bestseller lists. It comes it at #32 on USA Today, #3 on Publisher’s Weekly, and last but by no means least, #5 on the almighty New York Times. (via)
