You may have already seen Michael Heilemann’s collection of original trilogy storyboards, as they’ve been all over the internet by now, but what the hell.
It’s Friday, blah blah blah The Clone Wars
“Duel of the Droids” airs on Cartoon Network tonight. (Preview with the latest webcomic, Discount.) Don’t forget the new Saturday morning reruns.
- Last week: Watch “Downfall of a Droid” on StarWars.com.
- Fannish: The ForceCast roundtables “Downfall of a Droid,” while elsewhere on TFN they’re gearing up for a Henry Gilroy interview… And taking questions from fans.
- Gaming: TCW tie-ins Jedi Alliance and Lightsaber Duels came out this week… Alliance has fun facts.
- Rumor: Actress Jaime King (Sin City, Fanboys) doing a voice later in the season?
Third Half-Blood Prince trailer!
It will apparently be attached to Twilight. You can see it here in a multitude of formats. Run, don’t walk!
Robot Chicken: Seth Green is everywhere
He’s at StarWars.com and on the ForceCast and talking about Showgirls in Entertainment Weekly (Okay, really he was just there for some sort of test.) Thankfully, the new Robot Chicken Star Wars special airs on Sunday, so we don’t have to worry about him e-stalking the rest of us. Or maybe that’s the plan to promote his Heroes guest-stop?
There’s yet another clip over at io9. Please, will someone please let them know that ‘Jedi” is a singular plural?
(There’s a quick preview of Robot Chicken’s post-Star Wars season over at Animation Insider)
EUbits: Essential Atlas falls back to July
Bad news, folks – The Essential Atlas release date has moved from February to July. Still confident we’ll see it… eventually. (Thanks for the heads-up, Zee Zee!)
- Fate of the Jedi: Sue Rostoni says the covers will be similar to the Rebel Force covers… I can’t say I find that encouraging, with the Rebel Force covers being the epitome of bland. But maybe not being able to directly copy movie-era stills will lend the format some oomph.
- The Old Republic: MMO game fighting will be “choreographed.” Like in West Side Story? Because that would be awesome.
Is Dollhouse in the doghouse?
It’s like deja vu all over again. Fox has decided to place the new Whedon show Dollhouse on Fridays at 9pm, Eastern. Fans of Firefly are probably having flashbacks to its own deadly timeslot of Fridays at 9pm. And it’ll be in competition with Clone Wars and whatever lands on that slot on SciFi, once Stargate Atlantis is off the air. But they’re pairing it with The Sarah Connor Chronicles, so hopefully that will help it a little.
i09 is hopeful, though, and thinks this will be Joss’ best show ever. Think those shiny thoughts, people!
Do-Good – Signed Clone Wars Goodies
Just in time for Life Day! The official Star Wars blog gives a heads up that there are a bunch of Clone Wars figures up for auction and signed by Lucasfilm staffers to benefit The Heiffer Foundation.
Not only will it grab you a nifty little collection of figures, but a cow. You could buy a cow, people.
Video: Behind-the-scenes at Robot Chicken
The only video Adult Swim has on their site for Robot Chicken Star Wars II! Curses! Well, at least we can watch an Ackbar scene at StarWars.com.
Holy Bat-lawsuit!
The mayor of a town in south-eastern Turkey named Batman is suing!
Concept art and cut scenes from The Clone Wars DVD
io9 goes inside The Clone Wars DVD so we don’t have to. Also roaming around online is a ‘complete list’ of titles for season 1 of the TV show, at least some of which seem to have originated on the DVD.
